Do Not Bench List - All Positions

  •  Running Back Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia Eagles: Westbrook had a solid Week 1, gaining 85 yards on the ground and 46 through the air without a touchdown. The Eagles are considering also using Westbrook as the team's punt returner, so be sure to keep him in your starting lineup Week 2 against the Redskins.
  •  Wide Receiver Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys: In Week 1, Owens caught three passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns. He's Romo's primary target and should continue to rack up the yards and touchdowns as the year goes on. Against an aging Miami defense, keep Owens as a starter on your team.
  •  Tight End Jeremy Shockey, New York Giants: Though it's not yet known who the starter will be at quarterback for the Giants this week, one certainty is that Shockey will get the ball. He caught five passes for 41 yards against the Cowboys and now plays the Packers in Week 2. If you have Shockey on your team, it'd be wise to start him.

Romo - After a huge Week 1 against the Giants, Romo looks to continue his hot start in Miami against the Dolphins. He's a decent No. 1 quarterback with a strong play this week.

Manning - Manning's status is up in the air at this point. He had a strong Week 1 keeping the Giants in the game, but the extent to which his shoulder is injured has not yet been confirmed. It's unlikely Manning will start this Sunday, so be sure to keep him on your bench.

McNabb - A slow start to the season for McNabb raises the question of whether or not his knee has recovered enough for him to be playing. McNabb claimed that he felt fine after the game, and his statistics should slowly improve as the year goes on. His performance should be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, and if it looks like he's slowly getting back to his old form, your confidence in him can be renewed. The Redskins allowed only 13 points last week, and may try to put him under a lot of pressure, so only start McNabb if he's your best option.

Campbell - Campbell's Week 1 numbers weren't that great, but he may improve as the season moves on. Until that happens though, keep a seat reserved for Campbell on your bench.

Jones - As expected, Jones got slightly more carries than Barber in Week 1. Barber, however got the Cowboys' only rushing touchdown. Whichever of the two get the most carries will usually depend on the matchup. It's a tough call to make as the fantasy owner of one of them. Expect the carries to be nearly split between the two this week, and consider Jones a decent No. 2 option at best.

Barber - Barber got the Cowboys' only rushing touchdown this past week but got fewer carries and fewer red zone carries than Jones. Your best bet is to use Barber as a flex option.

Jacobs - The initial report is that Jacobs (knee) will miss at least a few weeks. Make sure to take him out of your lineup and put him on the bench.

Buckhalter - Buckhalter will scarcely be used on the Eagles, barring an injury to Westbrook. Keep him on your bench.

Portis - Portis looked good Week 1, despite missing all of preseason. Betts got a lot of carries, but make no mistake, Portis is their feature back. Make sure to start him this week against the Eagles.

Betts - Betts carried the ball slightly more than Portis did in Week 1, mainly to help ease Portis back into the starting role after missing the preseason. Look for his workload to decrease slightly as Portis gets healthier. Keep him on your bench this week against Philadelphia, with a weak play.

Glenn - Glenn (knee) may miss quite some time, so be sure he finds a spot on your bench for now.

Crayton - Crayton's role with the Cowboys has become much more important with Glenn on the bench for at least a few weeks. He's still not going to be as productive as other No. 2 receivers in the NFL, but should get consideration as a flex option with a decent play.

Burress - Burress is coming off a huge week after scoring three touchdowns in Week 1 against the Cowboys. Whether or not Manning plays this week won't stop Burress from being a helpful target for the Giants quarterback. Burress is a strong No. 2 option, be sure to start him against the Packers.

Brown - The Eagles' No. 1 receiver did little in the way of production last week. Even as a No. 1, he won't produce as much as some No. 2's in the league. He's a decent No. 3 receiving option for this week against Washington.

Curtis - Curtis had a decent start to his Eagles career, but in all probability, he won't keep up any numbers much higher than those he produced in week 1. He should stay on your bench as a weak No. 3 receiver with a weak play.

Moss - Moss didn't have a great game in Week 1, dropping two passes while only catching three for 28 yards. It'll take some time for him and Campbell to work things out, but once they get on the same page, Moss could be explosive. Look at him as a decent No. 2 receiver right now, with a decent play, but keep him in your lineup.

Randle El - Randle El had a huge week for the Redskins catching five passes for 162 yards. As long as Campbell continues to look for him, his stats could remain pretty good. For now, consider him a decent No. 3 option, but keep him in your lineup until he slows down.

Witten - Witten had a big week against the Giants. As long as Glenn is out for the Cowboys, he'll be their No. 2 receiving option behind Owens, and he should definitely remain in your lineup.

Smith - Smith didn't have that great of a week. On a team without many receiving threats, he's still one of McNabb's primary targets. Consider him a decent No. 1 option, and keep him in your lineup.

Cooley - With Campbell having a slow week, receivers not named Randle El on the Redskins had tough weeks as well. Cooley puts up numbers and should continue to improve as Campbell does. Cooley should start for your team this week.

Folk - With the Cowboys scoring as much as they did, Folk had a good week. Don't expect this to continue week after week, however, and keep Folk on your bench.

Tynes - Without Manning, the Giants may not be able to finish drives as well, resulting in more field goals. Look for Tynes' opportunities to increase, and to put up better numbers. Consider him a decent No. 1 with a strong play this week.

Akers - Akers had the slowest week among NFC East kickers, but he's the most consistent among the bunch. He's a solid No. 1 kicker and should always be in your lineup unless injured.

Suisham - Suisham hit all three of his field goals in Week 1, but look for more consistent success before making him your starting kicker. Leave him on your bench for now.

Cowboys - The 35 points shouldn't be the usual allowed by the Cowboys, and against the Dolphins, they certainly shouldn't surrender as many points. The Cowboys should stay on your bench though for now.

Giants - The Giants defense was over-matched against the Cowboys, getting ripped apart for 45 points. They'll need to show a major improvement before appearing as your starting defense. Don't start them this week against Green Bay.

Eagles - Going against Washington, consider Philadelphia a good No. 1 option with a strong play after allowing only 10 points last week.

Redskins - The Redskins play the Eagles this week, a fairly good offense that's started the year off slow. Consider the Redskins a decent No. 1 option this week, but they should probably stay on your bench.
