: ESPN.com reports the doctor who performed the surgery on Buffalo Bills TE Kevin Everett (neck) told Buffalo TV station WIVB that Everett has voluntary movement of his arms and legs and as a result, he is optimistic that Everett will walk again. Dr. Andrew Cappuccino said Everett’s sedation levels were lowered on Tuesday, allowing him to respond to verbal commands. WIVB also reported that Everett's latest MRI shows only a small amount of swelling on his spinal cord. Cappuccino said, “A best-case scenario is full recovery, but not likely. I believe there will be some permanent neurologic deficit.”

: Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Giants got a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews on Giants QB Eli Manning’s (shoulder) injured shoulder. Andrews confirmed the diagnosis of a sprained A-C joint and said Manning can play if he can tolerate the pain. Andrews went on to say he saw no structural damage and that he saw no reason to think that Manning could damage it by playing this week. The Giants are convinced that if Manning can’t play in Week 2, he will definitely be ready to play in Week 3.
