Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton has been called up from Double-A Mobile.

Upton has seemingly limitless potential in the majors, as he was the first overall pick of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft and possesses all of the tools. In 70 games for Mobile this season, Upton has batted .310 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI. Upton started the season at Class A Visalia, where he hit .341 and had five homers in the month of April. Upton is also the younger brother of Tampa Bay Devil Rays second baseman B.J. Upton.

Justin Upton is worth picking up in deeper leagues right away because of his potential, and owners in need of a potential impact player in any league should consider him as well. Owners in dynasty leagues and full-retention keeper leagues should stop reading here and pick up Upton immediately. The Diamondbacks obviously think very highly of Upton, considering his rapid ascent through the minor leagues (he will be 20 later this month). The Diamondbacks are right in the heart of a pennant race in the NL West, so they likely expect Upton to make an impact right away.

On Arizona's roster Upton replaces outfielder Carlos Quentin (hamstring), who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Quentin shouldn't be owned, except perhaps in NL-only leagues, so this isn't a blow to fantasy owners.
