Quarterback

QB | Marc Bulger | St. Louis Rams | Fantasy
Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan said he is happy with the way QB Marc Bulger has looked during practice. "No, he looks great. Marc's playing at a high level; he's an extremely gifted thrower. All that first year, new coaches, whatever ... that's all gone, and now he's just kind of tuning his game up," Linehan said.

QB | Donovan McNabb | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury News
Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb (knee) will have some of the Eagles' receivers over to his Arizona home, so they can work on timing and other things.

QB | Brett Favre | Green Bay Packers | Injury News
The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre (shoulder) missed practice Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14, because of a sore right shoulder. "I probably could practice, but it really don't make a lot of sense to go out and make it any worse. I think it's probably just tendinitis or something like that," Favre said.

QB | Ben Roethlisberger | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury News
Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (illness) missed practice Wednesday, June 13.

QB | Daunte Culpepper | Miami Dolphins | Injury News
Updating previous posts, ESPNews reports Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper (hand) slightly bruised his left, non-throwing hand when his car was rear-ended Wednesday, June 13.

QB | Chris Simms | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Injury News
During an interview with Jim Flynn of PewterReport.com, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Chris Simms (spleen) said he was 100 percent healthy, but was not where he wanted to be from a throwing standpoint. "It's not that I feel so bad throwing the football right now, but I have to get my body used to it. You always hear a lot about quarterbacks and timing, and for whatever reason that seems to be taking me more time to get back than anything else. But I think it's just like anything else. Until OTAs started, I hadn't been out here practicing since late September. That's a long time. That's definitely the longest period of time I've ever gone without throwing a football or practicing. It's frustrating. It really is, and on a lot of levels, because not only was my abdomen tight from the injury and surgery, but my arm was tight as well because I hadn't thrown a football in so long," added Simms.

Running Back

RB | Chris Brown | Free Agent Players | Free Agency News
Jessica Hopp, of the Tennessean, reports free-agent RB Chris Brown (Titans) has had contract talks with the Chicago Bears and could possibly sign with the team soon, according to agent Wynn Silberman. Christopher L. Gasper, of the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots RB Laurence Maroney (shoulder) says he will be capable of carrying the workload at running back once he is fully recovered from offseason shoulder surgery. "Yeah, most definitely," Maroney said. "We've got a lot of good players on this team and I still don't feel like with Corey being gone and me moving up to the starting running back that the pressure is going to be on me because we still have 10 other people on this (offense) that are going to have to carry their load. I'm going to have to carry my part and we're all going to come together and put it together as a team effort." Maroney remains noncommittal about whether he will be ready by the start of training camp July 27.

RB | Brian Westbrook | Philadelphia Eagles | Fantasy
Nick Fierro, of The Trenton Times, reports Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook prefers the game plans that were used after QB Donovan McNabb tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in November. Westbrook said, "I hope that we run the ball more, but there's really no guarantee. Different games call for different things. If you're down by 15, 14 or 21 points before the half, you're going to throw the ball. In some games, we were down by that margin. We have to find a way to keep our defense off the field and keep our offense on the field. I think we did it effectively last year at the end of the season by running the ball."

Wide Receiver

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams WR Torry Holt (knee) said he is on schedule with his rehab, after participating in the team's minicamp. If he is ready by the start of camp, Winslow will likely be held to one practice a day and take some days off. Winslow has been running and rehabilitating on his own during the team's minicamp. "The medical people will let us know," head coach Romeo Crennel said. "If they tell us he's full-go, then he'll do everything. If not, we'll limit him."

TE | Jeremy Shockey | New York Giants | Fantasy
Michael Eisen, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants TE Jeremy Shockey has gained weight over the offseason. "I probably weigh about 265 [pounds]. I like to go into camp heavy and lose it during the season. The most I've ever weighed is 254. It's for power and I'm faster than I was last year. It will help me on my blocking, but I'm a lot more explosive than I was last year. I think it has more to do with what I eat, my diet. It's all organic, it's all fresh and all natural, no red meat and healthy food. (I'm) reading Arnold's book, "Pumping Iron," and watching the movie," Shockey said.

Place Kicker

Steve King, of ClevelandBrowns.com, reports Cleveland Browns PK Phil Dawson hit 21-of-29 field goal kicks in 2006 for a 72.1 percent success rate, his worst since his rookie season in 1999. Dawson said, "My timing was off. It's like a golf swing. You get just a little out of synch -- maybe only a few inches -- and it throws everything off. I knew pretty soon after it started affecting me, what it was. The problem was correcting it. That's hard to do during the season, but it's something I have to do." Dawson has changed his offseason regiment completely in an attempt to improve from last year. "I started kicking earlier this season than I have in 10 years. I'm really working on getting my technique corrected," Dawson added.
