Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns general manager Phil Savage will consider selecting Oklahoma RB Adrian L. Peterson with the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft. "I think he's a terrific talent. He's fast, he's physical. He's got acceleration. He's got burst. We've got Jamal (Lewis) on a one-year deal, so I don't think it takes us out of picking Adrian," Savage said.

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports University of Southern California WR Dwayne Jarrett participated in his university's Pro Day. Jarrett ran the 40-yard dash between 4.60 and 4.65 seconds. He ran the short shuttle in 4.18 seconds and the three cone drill in 7.22 seconds. Jarrett had a vertical jump of 36 1/2 inches and a broad jump of 10-foot-1.

"While the incident involved a minor traffic matter, the club is frustrated that the issue arose at all. The club will (delay) commenting on this specific matter until it is ruled on by the court, and Chris' overall future with our team can be determined only after this and other pending matters are resolved by the NFL."

Updating a previous report, John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports the one-year contract signed by New Orleans Saints restricted free-agent WR Terrance Copper is worth as much as $1.1 million and includes a $350,000 signing bonus. His base salary for 2007 would be $600,000. Copper can make an additional $150,000 in workout and roster bonuses, which would make his deal worth approximately $250,000 more than his original tender. Copper, who becomes an unrestricted free agent when the contract expires, has playing time incentives in his contract related to receptions. If the incentives are completely reached, they could push the total value of the deal to $1.35 million.

John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports the agent for New England Patriots WR Donte' Stallworth, Drew Rosenhaus, believes his client will earn every penny of the six-year, $33.1 million contract he signed this offseason. Most observers believe Stallworth is essentially playing on a one-year deal, as his salary would be $11 million in bonuses and salary in 2008. "If he's the player he's capable of being, it's a good deal for everybody," Rosenhaus said. "It's a fair deal for both sides. We think the deal's going to hold up and be a long-term deal with the Patriots, as is."
