"I have the same feeling as Coach Martz does," Furrey said. "If we were to bring in a quarterback now in this system and this offense, we'd be taking a step back. He (Jon Kitna) will come back next year with a great understanding of this offense, which takes a long time to get used to."

"This is my first major injury, and right now I'm just coming in here doing what I'm supposed to do to the best of my ability," Rucker said of his rehab. "I have no concerns about Mike Rucker coming back," said team head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion. "He is three weeks into his rehabilitation and he's doing great. He's responding extremely well and he's working very hard. He doesn't just lay on the table. He's up and walking around. He's riding a stationary bike. He does a lot of standing exercises. He's doing a little bit of a leg press. Mini squats. Toe raises. Lunges. He's in the beginning stages, but he's still pretty active."

He plans to remain in New Jersey throughout the entire offseason to work with the team's trainers.
