--RB Clinton Portis: Updating previous reports, Howard Bryant, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis (hand) underwent surgery Monday, Nov. 13, to insert three screws to stabilize his fractured fourth metacarpal bone in his right hand. Portis, who suffered the injury during the first quarter of Week 10, is expected to miss about a month of action.
--RB T.J. Duckett: Howard Bryant, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs said RB T.J. Duckett would play a more significant role on offense now that RB Clinton Portis (hand) is sidelined with a hand injury heading into Week 11.
--RB Ladell Betts: Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis (hand, shoulder) will undergo surgery on his left shoulder. As previously reported, the Redskins plan to put Portis on Injured Reserve. RB Ladell Betts will replace Portis in the starting lineup. Team officials had planned for Portis to miss three-to-four weeks and return for the last few games of the season. The team later decided that bringing him back late in the year might be too risky and believe it would be best for Portis to have his left shoulder repaired as well.
