8) OF Nate Schierholtz, Chicago Cubs

Rudy Gamble, Razzball | Roster

There were several options here for OF6/UTIL. Andre Ethier and Matt Joyce profile similarly to Schierholtz (i.e., won't play against LHP), but I think Schierholtz has more playing-time security through the first half. He's also slotted to hit cleanup, which should allow for decent R/RBI. Thought about Gregory Polanco here but wanted to wait a round before prospecting.

9) OF Gregory Polanco, Pittsburgh Pirates

Mark Bloom, RotoExperts | Roster

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett
Hop on the Scooter for PT

I don't usually like to roster young rookies in deep drafts, but Polanco is the rare exception. He is on the fast track (mid-June) to Pittsburgh and should be an impact player on the base paths as soon as this season.

10) SS Alcides Escobar, Kansas City Royals

Nicholas Minnix, KFFL | Roster

One drawback to waiting for my starting shortstop is that my choices for a backup may not be great. Yep, they weren't. I'm not an Escobar fan -- his skill set was way overrated last year -- but regression to his mean would be a rebound, and then he'd get 25-plus steals.

11) SP Wade Miley, Arizona Diamondbacks

Ryan Bloomfield, Baseball HQ | Roster

Another non-upside late play in my rotation, but that's fine with me. A good walk rate and growing groundball rate give Miley a pretty high floor. He was easily the most stable SP remaining.

12) SP Hector Santiago, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Jeff Paur, RTSports | Roster

I like the potential of Santiago for the coming season. He struggles with his control but has high upside for strikeouts and ERA. If he can get it together, this pick could be a difference-maker for me. I almost took him a few rounds back.

13) OF Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City Royals

He'll provide some depth in the outfield and who knows ... maybe one day he'll stay healthy for a full season and live up to that 15-15 potential.

14) 2B Scooter Gennett, Milwaukee Brewers

Andrew Martinez, Rotowire | Roster

Still needed a MI and Gennett should get plenty of playing time, now with the Rickie Weeks experiment over.

15) OF Andre Ethier, Los Angeles Dodgers

Steve Gardner, USA TODAY/Sports Weekly | Roster

Matt Kemp is hurt and Carl Crawford has a hard time staying healthy. There should be plenty of ABs for Ethier. If everyone is healthy maybe he gets traded.
