Quarterback

QB | Carson Palmer | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) said his ankle is feeling better and expects to play Week 16.

QB | Aaron Rodgers | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) is doing better but still has not been cleared to play at this point.

QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans QB Case Keenum (thumb) will miss Week 16 because of a torn ligament in his thumb. QB Matt Schaub will be the team's starting quarterback.

Owners in two-quarterback leagues can consider using Schaub this week against the Denver Broncos.

QB | EJ Manuel | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said QB EJ Manuel (knee) will not play Week 16 because of a knee injury. QB Thaddeus Lewis will be the team's starting quarterback. Marrone said Manuel may be able to play Week 17.

All of the Bills skill players likely will take a fantasy hit with Manuel missing the game. Lewis should not be a starting option even in two-quarterback leagues.

QB | Nick Foles | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (hand) had a large abrasion on the back of his right hand Wednesday, Dec. 18, but told reporters he was fine.

Foles has become a top-tier starting QB for fantasy purposes. Continue to roll with him.

QB | Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
When asked whether he would consider replacing QB Matthew Stafford with QB Shaun Hill during a game, Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz stood solidly behind his first-string quarterback. "I haven't considered making a change," Schwartz said. "Matt's our quarterback. He's going to remain our quarterback, and he's going to play well for us."

QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is expected to take it easy on his left knee for a few days before being fitted for a protective brace. Flacco is expected to play in the Week 16 game against the New England Patriots.

Running Back

RB | Darren McFadden | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy
Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden (ankle) is participating in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

RB | Ben Tate | Houston Texans | Injury, Transaction, Breaking, Fantasy
The Houston Texans have placed RB Ben Tate (ribs) on Injured Reserve.

Dennis Johnson likely will start the final two games of the season with Tate out. Johnson could be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option for owners in deeper leagues. He likely will be more valuable in point-per-reception leagues than in standard leagues.

RB | Jonathan Stewart | Carolina Panthers | Injury, Fantasy
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (knee) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 18, and head coach Ron Rivera said the earliest Stewart will return is Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons.

J-Stew may play again this year, but it won't come this weekend for your fantasy championship. You should have already dropped him from your roster.

RB | Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said RB Adrian Peterson (foot, groin) will take part in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

RB | Donald Brown | Indianapolis Colts | Injury, Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said RB Donald Brown (stinger) will be able to participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

RB | Fred Jackson | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson (undisclosed) was not present during the media-access portion of practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

RB | Willis McGahee | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (concussion) has been cleared to practice and play in Week 16.

RB | Andre Ellington | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (thigh) is dealing with a thigh bruise, which forced him out of the overtime portion of the Week 15 game against the Tennessee Titans. As long as the tissue trauma to Ellington's thigh is relatively mild, and he is able to run without pain by late in the week, Ellington has a good chance of being able to play in the Week 16 game.

Wide Receiver

WR | Stevie Johnson | Buffalo Bills | Fantasy
Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said WR Stevie Johnson (personal) is not expected to play Week 16 because of the death of his mother.

T.J. Graham and Marquise Goodwin likely will receive more playing time if Johnson misses the game. Graham and Goodwin likely will not be fantasy options except for very desperate owners.

WR | Kenbrell Thompkins | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WRs Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) and Aaron Dobson (foot) were practicing in the session open to the media Wednesday, Dec. 18, and appear close to returning in Week 16 against the Baltimore Ravens.

WR | Wes Welker | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker (concussion) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

WR | Victor Cruz | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee, concussion) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 18, and head coach Tom Coughlin said Cruz's knee "will probably prevent (Cruz) from doing anything." The Giants are more concerned with his knee than his concussion.

It's looking like a long shot that Cruz will play this weekend against the Detroit Lions. Upgrade Reuben Randle and Hakeem Nicks in your weekly rankings. Randle has more upside for championship week.

WR | Randall Cobb | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (leg) is participating in individual drills during practice Wednesday, Dec. 18, for the first time since breaking his leg.

WR | Terrance Williams | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said WR Terrance Williams (hamstring) may not be able to play Week 16 because of a hamstring injury.

WR | Percy Harvin | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (hip) is expected to be out until at least the playoffs.

WR | Austin Pettis | St. Louis Rams | Fantasy
St. Louis Rams WR Austin Pettis played only 13 snaps in the Week 15 game against the New Orleans Saints, but he still managed four receptions, with three going for first downs.

WR | Larry Fitzgerald | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (concussion) said Tuesday, Dec. 17, he was visiting a second independent neurologist, a day after he had a positive test with another neurologist. "He still has to pass the protocol," head coach Bruce Arians said. "We're waiting to make sure. They're not going to take any chances with him right now. He'll be fine. I think, by game time, but he still has to pass the second part once he gets activity."

Tight End

TE | Brandon Pettigrew | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew (ankle) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Dec. 18.

TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez (toe) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 18.

TE | Jordan Cameron | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron (head) has reported concussion symptoms and will not practice Wednesday, Dec. 18. He's involved in the concussion protocol now.

He reported the symptoms Monday, but he still has time to be cleared to play in Week 16. Monitor his progress.

Place Kicker

PK | Mason Crosby | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby has made 5-of-7 attempts from 50 yards and beyond, including two 57-yard field goals this season. Overall, he's converted a career-best 88.2 percent (30-of-34) of his attempts. Earlier this month, Crosby set the NFL record for most points by a player in his first seven seasons, breaking former Indianapolis Colts PK Mike Vanderjagt's mark of 874 points. Crosby now has 887 points. With two games remaining, he is on pace for the third 140-point season of his career. He would join David Akers (2008, 2010-11) and Stephen Gostkowski (2008, 2011-12) as the only players in league history to do so.

PK | Shayne Graham | New Orleans Saints | Free Agents, Fantasy
The New Orleans Saints plan to sign free-agent PK Shayne Graham (Browns) to replace PK Garrett Hartley, who was released Tuesday, Dec. 17.
