First Baseman

1B | Logan Morrison | Miami Marlins | Fantasy
The Miami Marlins are open to dealing 1B Logan Morrison.

1B | Garrett Jones | free agent | Free Agents
The Miami Marlins have had serious discussions with free-agent 1B/OF Garrett Jones (Pirates).

Second Baseman

2B | Robinson Cano | Seattle Mariners | Transaction, Free Agents, Fantasy
The Seattle Mariners agreed with free-agent 2B Robinson Cano (Yankees) to a 10-year, $240 million deal.

Cano leaves a hitter's paradise for a hitter's nightmare in Safeco Field. His power translates anywhere, though. In fact, he hit more homers on the road last season. He has hit .309 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 152 at-bats in Seattle during his career. You can expect a slight decline in power. He also has very little around him in the form of protection. Owners will have this in the backs of their minds on draft day. It's possible he'll fall in drafts because of such, but it's not a good idea to value him as an early first-round pick anymore.

SS | Brian Bocock | Kansas City Royals | Transaction
The Kansas City Royals signed free-agent SS Brian Bocock (Pirates) to a minor league deal Thursday, Dec. 5.

SS | Rafael Furcal | Miami Marlins | Transaction, Free Agents
The Miami Marlins have agreed to terms with free-agent SS Rafael Furcal (Cardinals) on a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

SS | Javier Baez | Chicago Cubs | Fantasy
Chicago Cubs SS Javier Baez will stay at shortstop despite being blocked by SS Starlin Castro at the big league level. Baez was the team's first-round pick in 2011, and scouts are saying that Baez is such a good athlete that he could play any position. "At some point, creating options and creating versatility is a good thing," executive Theo Epstein said. "In Javy's case, he's got a tremendous combination of instincts and athleticism which makes us think he'll be a natural at playing other positions." Baez was the team's minor league player of the year last year after hitting .282 with 37 home runs and 111 RBIs at Single-A Daytona and Double-A Tennessee.

C | J.P. Arencibia | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Texas Rangers are discussing a deal with free-agent C J.P. Arencibia (Blue Jays) that would make him the backup catcher, according to a source. Arencibia was non-tendered by the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week. He hit only .194 with a .227 on-base percentage last season despite hitting 21 home runs and driving in 55 runs. C Geovany Soto is penciled in to be the starter.

C | Mike Napoli | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Texas Rangers are interested in free-agent 1B Mike Napoli (Red Sox).

C | Brian McCann | New York Yankees | Fantasy
New York Yankees C Brian McCann's five-year, $85 million deal includes a $15 million vesting option for a sixth season and a no-trade clause.

C | Ralph Henriquez | Pittsburgh Pirates | Transaction
The Pittsburgh Pirates signed free-agent C Ralph Henriquez (Independent League) to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training Thursday, Dec. 5.

OF | Francisco Peguero | Baltimore Orioles | Transaction

OF | Jason Pridie | Colorado Rockies | Transaction

OF | Nelson Cruz | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy,
The Baltimore Orioles are looking at free-agent OF Shin-Soo Choo (Reds), OF Nelson Cruz (Rangers) and SP Ubaldo Jimenez (Indians).

OF | Curtis Granderson | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
Free-agent OF Curtis Granderson (Yankees) is reportedly seeking a four-year deal at $16 million per season.

OF | Leonys Martin | Texas Rangers | Fantasy
Three people were charged in Miami with conspiring to smuggle, kidnap and extort Texas Rangers OF Leonys Martin as he went from Cuba to the United States through Mexico. The three men were also charged with smuggling 13 other Cuban players to the U.S. Estrellas del Beisbol claims they were Martin's management agency after he was smuggled into Mexico in 2010, and the company filed a lawsuit against Martin, saying he didn't pay up to 30 percent of his salary after he was signed by the Rangers. Martin's representation is claiming he signed the agreement "under duress" and that he was held "against his will" in Mexico.

OF | Ryan Braun | Milwaukee Brewers | Fantasy
Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin confirmed OF Ryan Braun will move to right field next season. OF Khris Davis will have the first shot at left field, with OF Caleb Gindl also in the mix.

Starting Pitcher

SP | Hiroki Kuroda | New York Yankees | Transaction, Fantasy
The New York Yankees re-signed SP Hiroki Kuroda to a one-year, $16 million deal with $500,000 in potential incentives. He'll earn $250,000 for 190 and 210 innings pitches, each, and an interpreter.

SP | Stephen Strasburg | Washington Nationals | Injury, Fantasy,
Washington Nationals manager Matt Williams said SP Stephen Strasburg's (forearm) rehab is going fine, although he may be late to spring training camp by four or five days.

SP | Liam Hendriks | Minnesota Twins | Transaction
The Minnesota Twins designated SP Liam Hendriks for assignment Thursday, Dec. 5.

SP | Ross Detwiler | Washington Nationals | Injury, Fantasy,
Washington Nationals SP Ross Detwiler (back) was throwing 94-96 mph during the instructional league during his rehab, and he feels great about his health heading into spring training next year. However, he'll have to compete for a rotation spot after the team added SP Doug Fister in a trade. SPs Taylor Jordan, Tanner Roark, Ross Ohlendorf, Nathan Karns and Sammy Solis are other options to compete with Detwiler. He could also serve as a lefty reliever out of the bullpen.

SP | Scott Feldman | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy,
Free-agent SP Scott Feldman (Orioles) is seeking a deal around three years and $30 million.

Relief Pitcher

RP | Ryan Webb | Baltimore Orioles | Transaction, Free Agents
The Baltimore Orioles agreed with free-agent RP Ryan Webb (Marlins) to a two-year, $4.5 million deal.

RP | Jeff Manship | Philadelphia Phillies | Transaction,
The Philadelphia Phillies signed free-agent RP Jeff Manship (Rockies) to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training Thursday, Dec. 5.

RP | Ronald Belisario | Chicago White Sox | Transaction,
The Chicago White Sox signed free-agent RP Ronald Belisario (Dodgers) to a one-year, $3 million deal Thursday, Dec. 5. Belisario also attracted interest from the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers. He put up a 3.97 ERA in 77 outings for the Dodgers last season.

RP | Jose Contreras | Texas Rangers | Transaction,
The Texas Rangers signed free-agent RP Jose Contreras (Red Sox), RP Nathan Adcock (Diamondbacks) and OF Bryan Petersen (Marlins) to minor league deals with invites to spring training Thursday, Dec. 5.

RP | Eric O'Flaherty | free agent | Injury, Free Agents,
The Washington Nationals are interested in free-agent RP Eric O'Flaherty (elbow), who is coming off Tommy John surgery. They have not made an offer but remain in contact with him. The Nats are one of six teams to show interest in him. O'Flaherty is likely seeking a one-year deal since he'll miss at least the first month of next season. Washington is also interested in free-agent RPs Boone Logan (Yankees), Scott Downs (Braves), J.P. Howell (Dodgers) and Oliver Perez (Mariners).

RP | Brian Wilson | Los Angeles Dodgers | Transaction, Fantasy,
The Los Angeles Dodgers re-signed RP Brian Wilson to a one-year, $10 million deal. The deal includes a player option for the 2015 season that would be worth between $9 million and $10 million depending on how many games he appears in next year. Wilson had a 0.66 ERA in 18 games last year and pitched six scoreless innings in the playoffs.

Wilson will serve as the primary setup man to Kenley Jansen. His fantasy value will be limited to a handcuff option for Jansen. However, he could be useful for his peripherals after he showed nice form in bouncing back from Tommy John surgery at the end of last season.

RP | Edward Mujica | Boston Red Sox | Transaction, Fantasy,
The Boston Red Sox agreed to a two-year, $9.5 million deal with free-agent RP Edward Mujica (Cardinals) Thursday, Dec. 5.

Mujica had a career year with the Cardinals last year, recording 37 saves. He'll be used solely as a setup man in Boston, however, with Koji Uehara firmly planted in the ninth-inning role.
