QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 5, and QB Nick Foles took the starting repetitions at quarterback.
Vick has already been ruled out for Week 10, so this is rightfully Foles' job for at least another week. If Foles continues to move the offense effectively, Vick may not have a job to come back to when he's ready to return to action. This is a fluid situation, however.
QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is not blaming his offensive line after QB Joe Flacco was sacked a season-high five times against the Cleveland Browns in their Week 9 loss. "I feel like our offensive line blocked a lot better than the result might have shown in terms of number of yards," Harbaugh said. "When you watch the tape, there are a lot of really good blocks going on there." Harbaugh also suggested that Flacco needs to do a better job of getting rid of the ball sooner.
QB | EJ Manuel | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills QB EJ Manuel (knee) received the first-team repetitions during practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
QB | Aaron Rodgers | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Updating an ongoing story, a source said Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' (collarbone) timetable is roughly four to six weeks.
The team plays on Thanksgiving Day, which makes the four-week window a little difficult to make. It would be three-and-a-half weeks since the injury. Their next game would be 10 days later against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14. He could be back for your fantasy playoffs.
QB | Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
The Detroit Lions have dropped 10.6 percent of QB Matthew Stafford's passes this season, according to STATS, LLC. That is the third-highest percentage in the league.
QB | Matt Flynn | Free Agent | Injury, Free Agents, Fantasy
The Green Bay Packers are likely to sign free-agent QB Matt Flynn (Bills) (elbow) if they are convinced he is healthy, because of his past success and system knowledge.
QB | Scott Tolzien | Green Bay Packers | Transaction, Fantasy
The Green Bay Packers promoted QB Scott Tolzien from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Nov. 5.
QB | Jay Cutler | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (groin) acknowledged that he isn't a lock to return to face the Detroit Lions in Week 10. Cutler has tried platelet-rich plasma injections, an ARP machine and has gone on a strict diet in order to return earlier than expected from his groin tear, but ultimately it won't be up to him when he comes back. "I was aiming for the Green Bay game, and that didn't happen. So I don't think we can say I'll be out there for the Detroit game," Cutler said. "We're trying everything we can to get out there. It feels good, but I haven't practiced. I haven't been in a live situation and done all the cuts and the drops and saw how it felt yet."
Pump the brakes on Cutler returning this weekend. That probably won't happen based on the way Josh McCown has played. However, it wouldn't hurt to scoop Cutler up if he's available on the wire, especially if you own Aaron Rodgers (collarbone).
RB | Doug Martin | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Injury, Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (shoulder) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
RB | Trent Richardson | Indianapolis Colts | Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said the team wants to continue to have RB Trent Richardson involved in the passing game moving forward.
RB | Lamar Miller | Miami Dolphins | Fantasy
Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller is tied for second in the NFL with a 4.8 yards-per-carry average, among rushers with more than 50 carries.
RB | Ben Tate | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (ribs) posted 81 rushing yards on 22 carries in the Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts, playing through four broken ribs. He plans to play in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals.
With Arian Foster (back, hamstring) uncertain for this weekend's game, Tate could emerge as a useful RB2 or flex fantasy play.
RB | Arian Foster | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) entered the Week 9 game with a hamstring issue, and left with a back injury. It's uncertain if the two are related, and whether he'll be forced to miss time as a result of the injury.
Fantasy owners who started Foster last week were left with a big, fat zero since Foster left on the opening drive of the first quarter. There will be plenty of trepidation for fantasy owners, and rightly so, when going to plug Foster into their lineups.
RB | Ray Rice | Baltimore Ravens | Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice proclaimed he was at full strength in Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns, but he managed just 17 yards rushing on 11 carries.
Over his past three games, Rice has managed 96 rushing yards on 40 carries, and he hasn't found the end zone during that stretch. He has been so poor lately, that he should be considered more of an RB2 or flex fantasy play than an RB1 at this point.
RB | Eddie Lacy | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday, Nov. 5, that RB Eddie Lacy took a step as a runner in the Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears, running even more physical than he has in the past. McCarthy still believes Lacy has more to give, and is a legitimate three-down back.
RB | Chris Ogbonnaya | Cleveland Browns | Fantasy
Updating a previous item, Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said RB Chris Ogbonnaya could start to receive more carries.
Willis McGahee is still listed as the No. 1, but he's clearly running out of steam and has an extremely limited ceiling. Ogbonnaya has more upside and should be considered the more attractive running back in this backfield.
WR | Victor Cruz | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said the team hopes WR Victor Cruz (neck) will be able to practice Thursday, Nov. 7. Coughlin said he believes Cruz could have practiced Wednesday, Nov. 6, if the team needed him to take part.
WR | Nate Burleson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson (forearm) is practicing for the second straight day Wednesday, Nov. 6. It appears Burleson may have a chance to play Week 10.
WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (knee) is participating in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
WR | Robert Woods | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills WRs Robert Woods (ankle) and Marquise Goodwin (hamstring) are sitting out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
WR | Riley Cooper | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (illness) returned to practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
WR | Stephen Burton | Jacksonville Jaguars | Transaction, , Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
With the indefinite suspension of Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon, the team may turn to WR Stephen Burton to get some work. A third-year veteran acquired off waivers from Minnesota shortly before the season, he missed four games with a concussion and was inactive against the San Francisco 49ers, but the team is intrigued by Burton's size and speed and he will get opportunity in the coming weeks. Burton caught seven passes for 65 yards in the first three games of the season.
WR | Leonard Hankerson | Washington Redskins | Injury, Fantasy
Washington Redskins WR Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) practiced in full Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Mike Shanahan already indicated that Hankerson should be fine to play in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings. The matchup is a nice one. Consider him a strong flex option in deeper leagues.
WR | Antonio Brown | Pittsburgh Steelers | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown was benched late in the team's Week 9 loss to the New England Patriots after missing an assignment that led to an interception.
Brown had five catches (nine targets) for 71 yards and a score against the Patriots. Mike Tomlin was trying to send a message that everyone on the team is accountable after an embarrassing defeat. Brown shouldn't lose any playing time because of this moving forward.
TE | Jermichael Finley | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Transaction, Fantasy
The Green Bay Packers placed LB Sam Barrington (hamstring) and TE Jermichael Finley (spine) on the season-ending Injured Reserve Tuesday, Nov. 5, and activated OT Derek Sherrod (leg) from the Physically Unable to Perform list in a corresponding move.
You can safely drop Finley in all single-year formats if you were still holding him on your roster.
TE | Jason Witten | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten was a big part of the offense in the team's Week 9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, catching eight passes for 102 yards and a touchdown after totaling nine catches for 90 yards in the previous three games. The team made sure to work on ways to get Witten more involved the week heading into the matchup with the Vikes. Minnesota played Cover 2 and QB Tony Romo went 8-for-10 when looking Witten's way.
Despite the disappointing weeks prior, Witten remains a strong TE1 option.
TE | Kellen Winslow | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets TE Kellen Winslow has returned to the team following his four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. "I think it was something over my allergies, some medicine I was taking and it was on the banned substance list. It's just life. You deal with stuff. People that know me know I'm not trying to gain an edge or something like that illegally. I respect the game too much for that."
Winslow should return to the primary tight end duties, pushing Jeff Cumberland down and making him largely unplayable in fantasy leagues. Winslow is on a bye in Week 10, but look to add him as a strong backup option for the rest of the season.
PK | Neil Rackers | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
Free-agent PK Neil Rackers (Redskins), who was one of three free-agent kickers to work out for the Houston Texans Tuesday, Nov. 5, said that Houston is not ready to move on from PK Randy Bullock just yet. "We all hit the ball really well, but they told us they were not ready to make a move at this point," Rackers said.
