SS | Hanley Ramirez | Los Angeles Dodgers | Injury, Fantasy
Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (rib) started Game 5 of the National League Championship Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was hitless in three at-bats with a strikeout before departing after six innings. In three games Ramirez has started with the injury, only two grounders have been hit to him at shortstop.

Third Baseman

Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland juggled his lineup, using 3B Miguel Cabrera in the two-hole in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox. It was his first time hitting second to start a game since June 28, 2004, when he was a member of the Miami Marlins, then the Florida Marlins. He finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a stolen base.


C | Yadier Molina | St. Louis Cardinals | Fantasy
St. Louis Cardinals C Yadier Molina became only the third player in Major League history since double plays became official in 1979 to recover multiple GIDPs (grounded into double plays) and multiple strikeouts in a postseason game.

Detroit Tigers OF Torii Hunter was in the starting lineup as a leadoff hitter Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox. It was his first time in the top spot of the order since July 4, 1999, as a member of the Minnesota Twins. He had a two-run double, and it was his first multi-RBI game as a leadoff hitter in his career. It was also his first RBI as a leadoff hitter since May 14, 1999.

Detroit Tigers OF Austin Jackson was dropped to the eighth spot of manager Jim Leyland's batting order for Game 4 of the American League Championship Series Wednesday, Oct. 16, against the Boston Red Sox. He responded by going 2-for-2 with a pair of walks, a run scored, stolen base and two RBI. "I think it just helped me relax," Jackson said. "That was the goal. To get me to relax a little, be patient get a good pitch and let the rest take care of itself."

Starting Pitcher

The New York Yankees have just two pitchers locked into spots for the rotation in 2014, SPs CC Sabathia and Ivan Nova. SP Andy Pettitte has retired, and SPs Hiroki Kuroda and Phil Hughes are impending free agents. The team is hopeful Michael Pineda will be able to lock up a spot in spring training, and SPs Vidal Nuno, David Phelps and Adam Warren are other potential candidates to compete for spots barring any help from outside of the organization.

Boston Red Sox SP Jake Peavy was pounded for seven earned runs, five hits and three walks in just three innings in a loss in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers. Peavy is the fourth pitcher in postseason history to allow seven earned runs on five or fewer hits.

Texas Rangers P Neftali Feliz (elbow) will pitch in the Dominican Winter League for Este Toros. He returned to the majors briefly last season after reconstructive elbow surgery, and is still working his way back to full strength.

RP | Manuel Corpas | free agent | Transaction, Free Agents,
Colorado Rockies RP Manuel Corpas was taken off the 40-man roster Wednesday, Oct. 16, making him a free agent. P Jeff Manship cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Colorado Springs. Corpas hopes to re-sign with the team, perhaps at a lower cost.
