Updating previous reports, San Francisco Giants C Buster Posey (finger) has a small fracture in his finger and will be out for a couple of days. Manager Bruce Bochy said he can play with it as long as he can tolerate it.

It's not a lock that Baker will stay in the rotation for the duration of the season; his performance on Sunday will likely determine if he gets another start. For this reason, he's only a candidate for a pickup in a deep NL-only league.

"Last year, my last outing in spring training I touched 97. And my last outing before I got hurt, I was hitting 95 in the eighth inning. My velocity's getting there. I think the biggest question for me now is, how come some days I feel good, my arm feels live, and sometimes it just feels dead. That didn't happen before." He's allowed only two runs in his last 12 innings and has struck out 10 hitters.
Pelfrey is gradually returning to the power pitcher he once was before reconstructive elbow surgery. The last few weeks of the season might be an opportunity to get some of that out of him in deep mixed leagues.
