The New York Mets have an uncertain future at first base entering the 2014 season. Although the team has Ike Davis, Lucas Duda, Josh Satin and Wilmer Flores available to play, speculation is the Mets may go outside the organization and find someone else to play first.

C | Miguel Montero | Arizona Diamondbacks | Transaction
The Arizona Diamondbacks activated 3B Eric Chavez and C Miguel Montero Monday, Aug. 26. In a corresponding move, the team optioned 3B Matt Davidson and C Tuffy Gosewisch.

After suffering a pinched muscle in his left side during a swing Saturday, Aug. 24, Tulowitzki is available to pinch-hit Monday, Aug. 26. He passed all related tests and doesn't have an oblique injury. Gonzalez took 30 swings in the batting cage and responded well. He should take batting practice Tuesday, Aug. 27, and head out a rehab assignment soon after if he progresses.

Daily-lineup managers should keep an eye on their status.

Barton and Chris B. Young likely will see increased playing time while Reddick is out of the lineup. Barton probably will play at first base when Brandon Moss is moved to right field. Owners in AL-only leagues should consider adding Barton because he should see game action. Young could be an option in deeper leagues if he receives more playing time.
