Quarterback

QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson said he believes QB Michael Vick will beat out QB Nick Foles for the starting quarterback job during training camp. "In my opinion, honestly, I don't want to be put on the spot, I know y'all gonna do me like that, but Michael Vick's got a lot of confidence in himself. He's been there, going on 12 years in the NFL, I think he'll get the job," Jackson said. "Nick Foles is a great, great talent coming in from Arizona, actually a Pac-12 guy. He has the hype, he has the skills as well too. Going into camp, I think Michael Vick will probably be the starter, but we still don't know. I think [head coach Chip Kelly's] gonna keep everybody honest and keep everybody open."

QB | B.J. Daniels | San Francisco 49ers | Depth Chart Tidbit
San Francisco 49ers QB B.J. Daniels could have an edge over QB Scott Tolzien for the No. 3 quarterback job entering training camp because of his ability to play different positions as well as on special teams. Daniels could be active on game days if he makes the team and be used in different ways.

QB | Jay Cutler | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler said he is not worried about his contract situation at this point and will allow things to play out during the season. "That stuff takes care of itself. As long as we're winning football games and I'm playing well, hopefully they keep me around. If that doesn't happen, we'll see how it plays out. I'm not going to be distracted by it. I can't worry about it. I've been in this league long enough. I've seen guys come and guys go. It will work out the way it's supposed to work out," Cutler said.

QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Fantasy
Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith said QB Matt Schaub knows he will be judged by how he plays in big games and that he could play better in those games. "He understands that. He knows that. And he does have to play better in those situations for us to take our team to the next level," Smith said.

QB | Alex Smith | Kansas City Chiefs | Fantasy
Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith said new head coach Andy Reid has been "very hands-on" regarding the quarterbacks and the offense, which incorporates some of the same terminology that Smith used under the direction of San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman for the past two seasons. He seems happy to have a new beginning. "To see them make the move and trade and get me, and it's what I wanted to happen -- very exciting. Now, it's my turn to go make the most of it."

Running Back

RB | Montario Hardesty | Cleveland Browns | Fantasy
Cleveland Browns RB Montario Hardesty could be on the roster bubble during training camp because offensive coordinator Norv Turner likes running backs that are able to catch the ball and Hardesty has been a liability as a receiver.

RB | Chris Johnson | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
The Tennessee Titans would like to get RB Chris Johnson more involved in the passing game this season. Johnson only caught 36 passes for 232 yards last season, which were both career lows.

RB | Jahvid Best | Free Agent | Transaction
The Detroit Lions have released RB Jahvid Best.

RB | Matt Forte | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte said he believes he could be more involved in the passing game this season under head coach Marc Trestman. "I would expect (to be used more in 2013). Coach Trestman, I think he said he watched a lot of film on me and has seen me run different routes," Forte said. "So we'll get back to catching the ball out of the backfield like we did the prior years."

RB | Steven Jackson | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez said he believes the team can have a perfect offense after adding RB Steven Jackson this offseason. "Obviously, we're led by [QB Matt Ryan]," Gonzalez said. "With him pulling the trigger, with [WR Roddy White], [WR Julio Jones], myself, we're going to try and soften up that defense a lot where they got to stand back and play off us a little bit. That is going to make big holes for a guy like Steven Jackson, and we should hopefully go out there and be the perfect offense."

Fullback

FB | Vonta Leach | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Miami Dolphins are expected to continue talks with the agent for free-agent FB Vonta Leach (Ravens) this week. The team hopes to be able to reach a contract agreement with Leach in the near future.

Wide Receiver

WR | Pierre Garcon | Washington Redskins | Fantasy
Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, toe) said his toe is feeling good, and that he is still deciding on a special shoe to provide extra cushion and support.

WR | Stephen Hill | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets WR Stephen Hill only recorded 38 yards after catch last season on 21 receptions.

WR | Victor Cruz | New York Giants | Fantasy
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz said he believes he deserved more than the $43 million he got in his five-year contract extension. He said it is tough to see other receivers getting more money even though he is as good or even better than they are.

Tight End

TE | Chris Cooley | Retired | Transaction
Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley is retiring from the NFL and he will join the team's radio booth in 2013. Cooley was signed to a multi-year deal by ESPN 980 (980 AM), the team's flagship station in Washington. "To add a talent and fan favorite like Chris to our team will add excitement to our broadcast and a level of unpredictability for our listeners," the executive producer of the Redskins Radio Network said in a written statement.

TE | Tyler Eifert | Cincinnati Bengals | Transaction, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert received a $4.384 million signing bonus, with a $765,409 roster bonus for the 2016 league year.

TE | Martellus Bennett | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall said Tuesday, July 16, that he hopes the offseason addition of TE Martellus Bennett will take some of the receiving pressure off him. Marshall had career highs with 118 receptions, 194 targets and 1,508 yards. The Bears receiver with the next highest number of targets was WR Earl Bennett, with 49. Marshall feels the wear and tear might have led to his offseason hip surgery. "I am (looking forward to having more weapons)," Marshall said. "It was tough sledding last year. I think that's why I had to have surgery. I had 2-3 guys on me every single play, but bringing in big boy Martellus, I don't think the league really knows how good he is."

TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez said he is not sure if he will participate in all of the drills during training camp but will be reporting for camp ready to participate.

TE | Jordan Reed | Washington Redskins | Injury
Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (thigh) likely will not contribute immediately this season because he was not able to participate in offseason workouts due to a thigh contusion.

OT | Terrell Brown | Free Agent | Injury, Transaction
The St. Louis Rams have waived OT Terrell Brown and waived injured LB Phillip Steward (undisclosed).

Defensive Line

DL | Cam Heyward | Pittsburgh Steelers | Depth Chart Tidbit
The Pittsburgh Steelers want more production out of DE Cam Heyward. Heyward isn't slated to start, but he is likely to get more chances to put up numbers this season, especially with an aging DE Brett Keisel suffering through a series of nagging aches and pains.

DL | Armonty Bryant | Cleveland Browns | Transaction
The Cleveland Browns are confident CB Leon McFadden and DL Armonty Bryant will be in training camp on time. The two draft picks have yet to sign.

DL | Carlos Dunlap | Cincinnati Bengals | Transaction
Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals DE Carlos Dunlap will receive $11.7 million in guaranteed salary, but with a roster bonus next year the number is more like $17.4 million. If Dunlap is on the roster March 31, 2014, he will cash in on that $5.7 million roster bonus. He already earned $8 million with a signing bonus, and he'll earn a $3.7 million 'reporting' bonus when he gets to training camp.

Linebacker

LB | Will Witherspoon | Free Agent | Free Agents
The St. Louis Rams are expected to sign free-agent MLB Will Witherspoon (Titans).

LB | Jake Johnson | Free Agent | Injury, Free Agents

LB | Phillip Steward | Free Agent | Injury, Transaction
The St. Louis Rams have waived OT Terrell Brown and waived injured LB Phillip Steward (undisclosed).

LB | Brian Cushing | Houston Texans | Injury
Houston Texans LB Brian Cushing (knee) has received clearance from Dr. James Andrews to participate once training camp begins. The team likely will limit Cushing's participation early in camp.

Starting in 2014, Burnett has $300,000 annual workout bonuses and $300,000 roster bonus paid $18,750 per game he's active.

FS | Ed Reed | Houston Texans | Injury
