2B | Dan Uggla | Atlanta Braves | Fantasy
Atlanta Braves 2B Dan Uggla began wearing contacts late last week and is still adjusting to them. He didn't wear them Sunday, June 24, and singled. Uggla will likely explore the option of undergoing LASIK surgery after the season. But he has no desire to undergo the procedure during the season. If Uggla were to do so, he would likely miss at least two weeks.

2B | Dustin Ackley | Seattle Mariners | Injury, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Seattle Mariners OF/2B Dustin Ackley should get his chances to play after his call-up on Tuesday, June 25. OF Michael Saunders is struggling, OF Jason Bay (hamstring) just recovered from a mild hamstring issue, and OFs Raul Ibanez and Endy Chavez are 41 and 35 years old, respectively. "He's going to play," manager Eric Wedge said. "We're going to get him in there. We'll keep working him in the outfield, but you might see him in the infield if we need him there." Castro is hitting only .131 in June with no home runs and three RBIs. "Failure is innate in baseball; it's inevitable," president Theo Epstein said. "It's actually an important part in the development of the development process. Starlin is someone who went very quickly through the upper minor leagues. If you look at the number of at-bats he had at the Double-A and Triple-A level, there are not very many and he was in the big leagues instantly and had success."

SS | Asdrubal Cabrera | Cleveland Indians | Injury, Fantasy

SS | Hiroyuki Nakajima | Oakland Athletics | Fantasy
Oakland Athletics SS Hiroyuki Nakajima changed out his delayed leg kick at the plate for a small lift in his front foot in spring training this year, which robbed him of the torque on his swing and made him consistently late on pitches. "The emphasis was more on learning and observing the pitches, and that caused me to be more uncertain rather than swinging the bat freely," Nakajima said. He's now returning to the swing mechanics he used in Japan, and he went 18-for-46 during a season-high 10-game hitting streak at Triple-A Sacramento after making the change. The minor league coaching staff believes Nakajima is ready to face major league pitching now.

Nakajima hasn't proven he can play shortstop at the major league level, though, and the team already has SS Jed Lowrie playing there. However, Nakajima has played more third base than shortstop at Sacramento lately. It appears the A's weren't thrilled with his play at second base in late May. He developed a bad habit of letting the ball come to him on defense because of being used to playing on AstroTurf in Japan. With agility workouts and drills designed to improve his first step, Nakajima feels ready to return to the big leagues.

SS | Reid Brignac | free agent | Transaction, Free Agents
Free-agent SS Reid Brignac (Yankees) elected to enter free agency Thursday, June 25.

3B | Will Middlebrooks | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy
Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell said there is no timetable for 3B Will Middlebrooks to rejoin the major league club after he was optioned to the minors Tuesday, June 25.
