Quarterback

QB | JaMarcus Russell | Free Agent | Free Agents
Updating a previous report, a league source said Tuesday, June 4, that the Chicago Bears' workout for free-agent QB JaMarcus Russell (Raiders) is "information gathering," and there is no deal which is imminent. Russell is among a handful of quarterbacks the team will look at Friday, June 7.

QB | Brandon Weeden | Cleveland Browns | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden has looked exceptional in the last three team practices that were open to the media, according to ESPNCleveland.com writer Tony Grossi. Grossi acknowledges that any passer with a little experience and a strong arm should excel in such drills, but Weeden also demonstrated his growth by making a read and adjustment for a big play in one of the sessions. Grossi believes that Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer will share time with the second team, because Weeden won't have competition for the starting job.

Running Back

RB | Chris Johnson | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson approves of new RB coach Sylvester Croom. Comparing Croom to Earnest Byner, who held the job during Chris Johnson's 2,006-yard season back in 2009, Johnson said "it seems like everything is going well. ... He's a pretty good coach." Johnson said Croom has tweaked a couple of Johnson's steps during running plays and routes coming out of the backfield. "That's a little minor change that I can tell is already helping me out," Johnson said. Tennessee is aiming for Johnson to log more receptions this year.

RB | Stevan Ridley | New England Patriots | Injury
New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley (hamstring), TE Jake Ballard (ankle) and CB Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder) were injured during OTA practice Tuesday, June 4. Ridley pulled up with a right hamstring injury. Ballard hurt his left ankle attempting to make a catch. Both sat out and watched the day's remaining workouts, but a source said both escaped serious injury. Dennard, meanwhile, was carted off after hurting his left shoulder during team drills.

RB | Trent Richardson | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson (leg, migraines) has been dealing with migraines, and taking medication for migraines. The migraine medication, along with Richardson to not being able to fully participate in his weight lifting program, has caused Richardson to lose weight over the past two weeks.

RB | Knowshon Moreno | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno (knee) was back at organized team activities Monday, June 3, and he took part in some pass-protection drills. Moreno underwent an operation in the offseason in which stem cells were taken from the bone marrow in his pelvis and injected into his right knee. "It was nothing really too serious," said Moreno, who tore his right ACL in 2011. "This time it was just a cleanup pretty much. And it feels pretty good."

WR | Andre Johnson | Houston Texans | Fantasy
Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson caught 112 passes for 1,598 yards in 2012, which ended up being 58.1 percent of all Texans pass targets, a league high percentage. Head coach Gary Kubiak does not intend on scaling back the percentage and spreading it around in 2013. "It's going to happen again," Kubiak said.

WR | DeSean Jackson | Philadelphia Eagles | Fantasy
NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus has filed a grievance against Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, alleging his former client Jackson owes him more than $400,000 in unpaid loans. Rosenhaus claims Jackson took multiple loans between 2009 and March 2012, according to a source. Jackson fired Rosenhaus in late May, and has yet to secure a new agent.

WR | Josh Gordon | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
The Cleveland Browns won't always have WRs Josh Gordon and Greg Little line up on the outside with Davone Bess in the slot. In early workouts, they've been shifting spots to keep defenses guessing; all have run routes from the inside and outside. Gordon made some of his most dynamic plays last year from the slot. David Nelson (knee) will also be incorporated into this rotation once healthy.

WR | Brandon Marshall | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (hip) returned to the practice field on Tuesday, June 4, to take part in organized team activities after missing much of the offseason because of arthroscopic surgery on his hip in January. The wideout expressed a fear that his hip will become a long-term problem, since he's had multiple procedures on it and has been affected by the injury in each of the past two years, but he's optimistic about his condition for the time being. Marshall participated in only individual drills on Tuesday but expects to do more at future sessions, with the goal of being at full speed by training camp. He feels that he hasn't lost any mobility or speed, and he displayed what appeared to be his top form during workouts.

Initially, Marshall thought the pain he was feeling was the result of decreased strength and flexibility, but surgery led to the discovery that cleanup was necessary. He believes that he can have a better season this year than he did in 2012, when he caught 118 passes for 1,508 yards (on 188 targets), both single-season records for Chicago, because he considers himself fully healthy now, but he understands that ball distribution probably has to change for the team to be successful.

WR | Austin Collie | Free Agent | Injury, Free Agents, Fantasy
Free-agent WR Austin Collie (knee, concussion) is determined not to let multiple concussions end his playing career. Collie has had three serious concussions in his career, and is willing to risk permanent damage to himself to sign with another team. "I'll sign a waiver, all right?" he said. "They're not going to have to worry about me suing. I'll hold myself to be accountable." Collie said he's not at risk for long-term brain issues and has been cleared by several neurologists. He's had trouble finding suitors, but he thinks one team will eventually take a chance on him. "It would be hard to establish him in a key role due to injuries, but as a fourth wide receiver who could step up in a pinch (this season), there could be some value," an NFC scout said.

Tight End

TE | Delanie Walker | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (knee) had an MRI Monday, June 3, and head coach Mike Munchak was scheduled to see the results late Tuesday, June 4. "It's just soreness," Munchak said Tuesday. TE | Aaron Hernandez | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez (shoulder) was limited to side work during OTAs on Tuesday, June 4. He later caught passes from QB Tom Brady on another field while going through a route tree and QB coach Mike Kafka after that session. Hernandez appears to be progressing.

TE | Jimmy Graham | New Orleans Saints | Injury, Fantasy
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (wrist) looked good during the team's minicamp practice Tuesday, June 4. "Certainly getting him back from his offseason surgery and I know he's anxious to get started on this year," head coach Sean Payton said. "But I thought his practice today stood out." Adams (stomach) was stabbed in a robbery attempt. OT Guy Whimper could replace Adams, but Whimper led the NFL in allowing sacks with 14 in 2011, and he gave up four sacks in six starts last year with the Jacksonville Jaguars. OT Kelvin Beachum is the best option for right tackle, where he started five games for Pittsburgh last year. Beachum has been working to be the top backup at guard and center this year. The only other backup would be John Malecki, who has played in only one game.
