He said he's been trying to play through an illness for 10 days to two weeks, and he started taking antibiotics Saturday, May 11, for what he thinks is a respiratory infection. Hamilton did record two hits Monday, but he's hitting only .212 with a .261 on-base percentage and a .344 slugging percentage.
