Boston Red Sox RP Joel Hanrahan's (hamstring) sore right hamstring has been affecting his mechanics, according to manager John Farrell. "Yesterday, when we spoke about, 'Is this mechanical?' Clearly the right hamstring soreness is in the back of his mind and looking at some video again this morning, it looks like his right leg has collapsed a little bit in his delivery, it's caused him to work a little bit more uphill or a little bit more side to side, and not have that same effectiveness," Farrell said. RP Andrew Bailey will be the interim closer for as long as Hanrahan is sidelined.

The St. Louis Cardinals bullpen blew another late lead against the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday, April 14, with RP Trevor Rosenthal allowing a two-run home run in the eighth and RP Mitchell Boggs blowing the save chance in the ninth inning. RP Edward Mujica came to the rescue in the ninth inning with the game tied, and he could be an alternative to saves if manager Mike Matheny wants to go away from Boggs. Pitching coach Derek Lilliquist said the club has "flexibility in whatever we want to do." Matheny hasn't been ready to make snap decisions on Boggs yet, who is 2-for-4 in save chances, but he acknowledged that Mujica has been getting the job done in key situations. "(Boggs) is going to keep grinding through it, grinding through it. And we'll see what he's made of," Lilliquist said.
