2B | Marco Scutaro | San Francisco Giants | Injury, Fantasy

Shortstop

SS | Hanley Ramirez | Los Angeles Dodgers | Injury, Fantasy
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly isn't happy with the options he has on the left side of the infield after the injury to SS Hanley Ramirez (thumb). "To be honest with you, I'm not comfortable with anything that's going on at short right now," Mattingly said. The top options to replace Ramirez at shortstop are 3B Luis Cruz and SS Dee Gordon. Mattingly is also unsure if Ramirez will return to shortstop when he's healthy. General manager Ned Colletti is more certain, saying he was confident Ramirez will return to shortstop in May.

SS | Derek Jeter | New York Yankees | Injury, Fantasy
New York Yankees SS Derek Jeter (ankle) is hoping to return to baseball activities Friday, March 22.

SS | Eduardo Nunez | New York Yankees | Injury, Fantasy
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that the team is confident that SS Eduardo Nunez can fill in at shortstop if SS Derek Jeter (ankle) has to open the season on the disabled list.

SS | Justin Sellers | Los Angeles Dodgers | Fantasy
Los Angeles Dodgers SS Justin Sellers will be considered to fill in for SS Hanley Ramirez (thumb), even though Sellers was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque Tuesday, March 19. SS Dee Gordon (ankle) is dealing with a mild left ankle sprain. Sellers is considered a better pure defender than Gordon, but he was hitting only .150 this spring. INFs Luis Cruz, Nick Punto, Juan Uribe and Jerry Hairston Jr. are all options, as well. SS Miguel Rojas is in minor league camp and has been compared defensively to former SS Omar Vizquel.

Third Baseman

3B | Nick Castellanos | Detroit Tigers | Fantasy
Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski said the team sent down 3B Nick Castellanos so he could work on his outfield defense. The team also will be careful not to rush him back to the majors despite his abilities with the bat.

3B | Juan Francisco | Atlanta Braves | Fantasy
Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez doesn't plan to announce a winner in the third base competition between 3Bs Juan Francisco and Chris D. Johnson anytime soon, meaning they'll likely be involved in a platoon to start the season. Francisco is hitting .353 (18-for-51) with five home runs, 11 RBIs and a .686 slugging percentage in 18 games and Johnson is hitting .352 (19-for-54) with three home runs, 11 RBIs and a .537 slugging percentage in 20 games. Francisco eliminated some of the inward turn of his right knee in his batting stance over the winter.

3B | Juan Uribe | Los Angeles Dodgers | Injury, Fantasy

OF | Carlos Gomez | Milwaukee Brewers | Injury, Fantasy
Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez (back) left the game with lower back tightness Thursday, March 21, but manager Ron Roenicke said Gomez would have kept playing if it were the regular season.

OF | Jackie Bradley | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy
Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley has a 50-50 shot to make the team's opening day roster, according to one source. The team is keeping an open mind as far as putting Bradley on the team, but the injuries to DH David Ortiz (heels, Achilles') and SS Stephen Drew (concussion) have bolstered his chances. Bradley hasn't spent any time above Class AA. If he were to make the team, he'd be the everyday left fielder with OF Jonny Gomes starting as the designated hitter with Ortiz out. Bradley could start in the majors and then be sent down when Ortiz returns, so the team doesn't impact his service time. Bradley has a slash line of .444/.545/.578 in spring training.

OF | Marlon Byrd | New York Mets | Fantasy
New York Mets OF Marlon Byrd is hitting .324 this spring and the team is 99.9 percent certain that he will win the right field job. He has four RBIs and four doubles in 13 spring games.

SP | Jake Arrieta | Baltimore Orioles | Fantasy,

He is currently in the middle of a 14 2/3 scoreless innings streak in camp, giving up six hits and two walks Thursday. Arrieta has given up five runs and 13 hits while walking eight and striking out 16 in 17 1/3 innings over four spring starts.

SP | Rick Porcello | Detroit Tigers | Fantasy,
The Detroit Tigers are intently listening to trade offers for SP Rick Porcello, but they haven't initiated anything with other clubs. Porcello has 18 strikeouts and no walks while allowing 15 hits in 18 innings over four spring starts, raising his trade value. "Is it improved mechanics? That he's not throwing his slider? I don't know. But people forget that here you had the top pitching prospect in the game when we drafted him (2007)," general manger Dave Dombrowski said.

SP | Matt Harrison | Texas Rangers | Fantasy,
Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington announced that SP Matt Harrison will start the team's opening day game against the Houston Astros March 31. SP Yu Darvish will pitch the next game.

SP | Bruce Chen | Kansas City Royals | Fantasy,

However, he gave up no runs and two singles while striking out four and walking none over his final four innings. Chen is competing with SP Luis Mendoza for the final rotation spot.

SP | Roberto Hernandez | Tampa Bay Rays | Fantasy,
Tampa Bay Rays SP Roberto Hernandez allowed only three hits (solo home run) in six innings Thursday, March 21, as he battles SP Jeff Niemann for the No. 5 rotation spot.

SP | Ricky Romero | Toronto Blue Jays | Fantasy,
Toronto Blue Jays SP Ricky Romero allowed five hits and four runs while facing only 18 minor leaguers Thursday, March 21, and he walked five and struck out none. Only 29 of his 64 pitches were strikes. General manager Alex Anthopoulos said the team hasn't considered having Romero start the year in the minors to work out his issues.

SP | Tim Hudson | Atlanta Braves | Fantasy,
Atlanta Braves SP Tim Hudson will start the team's opening day game April 1 against the Philadelphia Phillies. He'll be followed in the rotation by SPs Paul Maholm, Kris Medlen, Mike Minor and Julio Teheran. Hudson hasn't started on opening day since 2008.

SP | Kyle Lohse | free agent | Free Agents, Fantasy,
The Colorado Rockies are keeping tabs on free-agent SP Kyle Lohse (Cardinals) and they have inquired about him, according to major league sources. However, they will only sign him "if by a very, very remote chance he just flat out doesn't have anything." Lohse might prefer to pitch for a team that plays in a less hitter-friendly park, too. The Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers are also interested in Lohse. He doesn't want to wait until after June to sign with a team, and he's seeking at least a two-year, $26.5 million deal that SP Ryan Dempster received from the Boston Red Sox.

SP | Chris Tillman | Baltimore Orioles | Injury, Fantasy,
Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman (abdominal) will throw a bullpen session Friday, March 22, and is likely to start Saturday, March 23. He continues to progress from abdominal soreness.

SP | Trevor Bauer | Cleveland Indians | Transaction, Fantasy,
The Cleveland Indians optioned SPs Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer and Scott Barnes to Triple-A Columbus Thursday, March 21.

RP | Huston Street | San Diego Padres | Fantasy,
The Detroit Tigers didn't ask for San Diego Padres RPs Huston Street or Luke Gregerson in exchange for SP Rick Porcello. The Padres would have surely turned that proposal down, if so.

RP | Cristhian Martinez | Atlanta Braves | Injury,
Atlanta Braves RPs Cristhian Martinez, Anthony Varvaro, David Carpenter and Wirfin Obispo are all competing for the last open spot in the bullpen. Two spots might be available if RP Jordan Walden (back) isn't ready for the start of the year. The team has backed off RP Jonny Venters for a week, and manager Fredi Gonzalez was vague when asked about the situation. However, Venters is expected to start the year in the bullpen. Varvaro and Martinez are out of minor league options, which makes them the favorites for a spot.

RP | Robbie Ross | Texas Rangers | Fantasy,
Texas Rangers RP Robbie Ross will head back to the bullpen. P Nick Tepesch could now be the favorite for the No. 5 rotation spot, but he might be competing with RP Derek Lowe now.

RP | Ryan Madson | Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim | Injury, Fantasy,
