1) Chris Tillman, SP, Baltimore Orioles Team: Josh Shepardson, Baseball Prospectus | Roster Tillman isn't as good as his surface stats indicate, but he finally cashed in on his promise as a former blue chip prospect. His increase in velocity last year and success, even if it was somewhat lucky, are encouraging.
2) Erasmo Ramirez, SP, Seattle Mariners Team: Mark Bloom, RotoExperts/SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio | Roster I was down to Ramirez and Dillon Gee at this point. I went with Ramirez because I love what he did in the second half last year. 3) David Robertson, RP, New York Yankees Team: Ray Flowers, Baseball Guys/SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio | Roster Had a great season last year and people forget if he hadn't gotten hurt it likely would have been him, and not Rafael Soriano, who led the Yankees in saves. 4) Jedd Gyorko, 3B, San Diego Padres Team: Bill Macey, Baseball HQ | Roster Gyorko has a good shot to be the starting 2B for the Padres this year but begins the year as 3B eligible. He has mashed in the minors (55 HR over 2011-2012), and I'm willing to gamble on the upside, particularly with the SD fences moving in. If he doesn't make the team, he's an easy cut the first time I need to make a move. 5) Daniel Murphy, 2B, New York Mets Team: Jeff Paur, RTSports | Roster This was some insurance for my Chase Utley pick, looking for someone that would be an adequate fill-in for when Utley misses some time, which is bound to happen. Murphy isn't exciting but is steady. He has some steals potential and always hits for a pretty good average. 6) Ubaldo Jimenez, SP, Cleveland Indians Team: Michael Stein, The Hardball Times | Roster It is incredible how far Jimenez has fallen in the past couple years. He was regarded as a solid fantasy option as recently as 2011, but the past year and a half has been an unmitigated disaster. He has something to prove this year on an Indians team that is expecting to compete for the AL Central crown. There is enough talent and upside left in his arm to take a flier on this late in the draft and as a bench player.
