1) Kyuji Fujikawa, RP, Chicago Cubs

Team: Pasko Varnica, Mastersball | Roster

We know that there is a high turnover of closers throughout the season. I am betting that one of them will see Fujikawa replace Carlos Marmol. If not, no fear, there will be free-agent closers coming soon.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers
Will Fiers burn or die out?

2) Jason Vargas, SP, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Team: Howard Bender, FanGraphs | Roster

He's not going to dazzle you with strikeouts, but he can maintain decent ratios for a back-of-the-rotation guy to stream in. His home-road splits indicate that Safeco Field has helped him, but Angel Stadium plays very well to pitchers too. A good innings-eater to have as depth.

3) Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B, Cleveland Indians

Team: Nicholas Minnix, KFFL | Roster

I'm really confident in Manny Machado (to be adequate, at least) for a multitude of reasons, but my confidence doesn't negate the risk. Chisenhall is my stab - the last legit stab left, in my opinion - to gain some more upside at the hot corner. I'm wary that he'll struggle to hit southpaws and end up in platoon duty, but if he runs with this opp, he could hit 20 homers. I had my eyes on Domonic Brown, too, but third base was my greater concern, especially since I took Jon Jay with my last pick. I thought Brown might come back, too, but he doesn't, it turns out.

4) Matt Carpenter, 1B/3B/OF, St. Louis Cardinals

Team: Tim Heaney, KFFL | Roster

... and hopefully 2B, as well. At this juncture, why not? His 15-15 potential would look nice from the keystone job for which he's fighting, and this gives me even more Curtis Granderson and CI coverage.

5) Brandon McCarthy, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks

Team: Mark Chamberlin, Baseball Sharks | Roster

He has the skills to push a 3.00 ERA, and the move to the NL will only help; just needs to stay healthy.

6) Mike Fiers, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Team: Steve Gardner, USA TODAY/Sports Weekly | Roster

Fiers has an excellent strikeout rate (9.5 K/9), especially for someone who doesn't throw all that hard (88.1 mph). Gotta love those skills, especially for a bench spot.

The second half awaits....
