Sometimes owners will use the final spots on a fantasy basketball team for one-dimensional contributors to pad a single statistic. The players offered here as suggestions for that purpose are expected to be found on waiver wires in more than half of standard fantasy leagues.
AssistsWith Kirk Hinrich sidelined due to an infected elbow, Nate Robinson has done a nice job stepping in as the starting point guard for the Chicago Bulls. Over the last four games, Robinson has averaged 16.3 points, 8.5 assists, 2.5 threes and 1.8 steals a game. Prior to getting rest during a blowout defeat to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, Robinson had played more than 40 minutes in three consecutive games. Hinrich is expected to return early next week, and Derrick Rose continues to make strides following knee surgery to repair a torn ACL. Consider Robinson a strong stopgap for those in need at point guard and assists. ReboundsBetween Pau Gasol missing at least six weeks with a torn plantar fascia and Dwight Howard's ongoing shoulder issues, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking at Earl Clark for their window-cleaning needs. In 14 games as a starter, Clark averaged 10.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 0.6 steals. He's also been taking some shots from downtown lately, making 1.1 threes a night over the last eight contests. It's quite possible that Gasol misses the remainder of regular season while Howard has only exceeded 30 minutes of playing time in six of his last eight starts. While the game logs show inconsistencies with the threes and blocks, Clark should have no issues challenging for double-digit rebounds each night. With Larry Sanders limited due to a bruised back, the Milwaukee Bucks are now showcasing Samuel Dalembert for a potential trade. Following a stretch of limited playing time, Sammy D has played more than 20 minutes in four of the last six games. In each of those appearances, he recorded a double-double and is coming off a game with four blocks and four steals. Over the last 10 games, Reggie Evans of the Brooklyn Nets is averaging 10 rebounds to just 4.1 points. ThreesRandy Foye is attempting more than half a dozen three-point attempts per game over the last 10 for the Utah Jazz. In that time, he averaged 15.1 points and 2.7 threes made. The shooting percentage has dipped lately, but the Jazz need Foye to shoot with frequency, especially as Gordon Hayward continues to miss time with a sprained shoulder. Still available: Martell Webster continues to emerge as the three-point shot taker and maker for the Washington Wizards. Over the last 10 games, Webster is launching 5.6 threes a night and making three of them for a crisp average of nearly 54 percent. The Houston Rockets just got Carlos Delfino back after missing two full games due to a right elbow strain. In the month of January, Delfino shot 45 percent from beyond the arc in 17 games, making 2.9 threes on 6.4 attempts. Swats and swipes after the jump! About Eric McClung
