Fantasy football sleepers: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Weeks 13 through 16, unless otherwise stated.

Fantasy football sleepers: Tight ends

Greg Olsen, Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

Fantasy value: High-end No. 1

    Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen
Houston, you have a problem: TEs
  • Olsen's 65.7 percent conversion rate on his 99 targets this year boosts his PPR cred during his career-best yardage season. His 16 looks over the last two weeks have produced 11 grabs. He's registered at least four catches in four of his last five games.
  • Though Olsen recorded just one 13-yard grab against them in Week 2, the Who Dats have allowed 6.75 catches, 55.8 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game to this lot. All season, they've been a defense ready to allow points regardless of position.

Dwayne Allen, Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans

Fantasy value: Flex or bench

  • Allen has shared targets and reps with Coby Fleener all year, and this week won't be any different. But Allen has been surprisingly more consistent than Andrew Luck's college roommate, though his total of 43 catches on the year isn't anything to scream about.
  • Still, any receiving option going against the Texans has a legit fantasy case to break into a lineup. Houston also has happened to be overly vulnerable against opposing tight ends; their 9.0 average standard points scored versus Houston ranks as the fourth best matchup. Much of that came from Aaron Hernandez's damage a few weeks ago, but note that Allen added his only TD of the year to his three-grab, 36-yard Week 14 performance against this team.
  • Allen won't be given any special treatment with the Colts locked into the postseason, so he may benefit from the likes of Reggie Wayne getting some time off.
