Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Brandon Gibson, St. Louis Rams (76 percent)

Little may come up big

Gibson's six-catch, 100-yard and one-touchdown showing in Week 14 elicited mostly skepticism from the brain trust around here. However, after following that up with six more receptions for 76 yards, it's time to consider Gibson a viable addition for the final two weeks - particularly next Sunday when they face a Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad that has surrendered 14.25 receptions, 202.5 yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game to opposing wideouts since Week 12.

Greg Little, Cleveland Browns (78 percent)

While Josh Gordon may have emerged as Cleveland's most dangerous wideout (which, granted, is akin to echidnas being viewed as the most dangerous type of hedgehog), Little has averaged 4.33 receptions for 63.67 yards per game over the past month. In the thin air of Denver the Browns may lean on their aerial game even more than usual.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

NEW - Jason Avant, Philadelphia Eagles (91 percent)

Like the rest of the Eagles offense, Avant's numbers were down in Week 15 as he totaled just three receptions and 44 yards - that after averaging 5.5 catches and 106 yards in his previous two. The Washington Redskins have had their issues containing opposing wideouts this year, which includes 11.75 receptions, 185.5 yards and 1.25 touchdowns per game in their last four. That makes Avant a solid option this Sunday.
