"You can't get around the injury," Frazier said. "It definitely has had an effect on his play. We're doing the best we can, he's doing the best he can and that play he made on the slant in (last Sunday's) game in the fourth quarter, that was a big play for us. We're going to need him to make some plays for us this Sunday. Give us whatever he can." Simpson's speed has been affected, as well as his ability to cut and plant during his routes. He has yet to be told that he'll need offseason surgery, though.

Bryant plans on being in the starting lineup in Week 15; however, he also accepts that he'll likely have limited flexibility in that finger for the rest of his life and will have to fight through excruicating pain for the rest of the season.
- Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee (toe) had his protective walking boot removed Monday, Dec. 10, taking a step forward in his recovery process after he had season-ending surgery on his right big toe Oct. 30. Lee said that he now has a steel plate in his right shoe to help give him support. He said that he'll now start attempting to work his toe by raising it about 10 degrees each week. His next steps in his recovery is to be able to walk at a fast pace and then start jogging.

"Are we going to give him a series every now and then, or every third series or something to that nature?" Childress said. "Yeah, we talk about that." The lack of big plays has been a problem for Richardson. He is seventh in the NFL in attempts yet has just two plays for more than 20 yards. Meanwhile, RB Montario Hardesty is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season.
- The Cleveland Browns announced Saturday, Dec. 15, that RB Trent Richardson (chest, finger, rib, illness) is also dealing with an illness; however, he remains listed as probable for Week 15.
