Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT
If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year. Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team. Note: Percentage of polled leagues in which player is available in parentheses Fantasy football free agents: Priority additionsThe following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team.
Darrius Heyward-Bey, Oakland Raiders (37 percent) With Oakland's ground game in disarray, Heyward-Bey's production has been on the upswing. His five-catch, 82-yard, one-touchdown showing in Week 10 gives him 15 receptions for 273 yards and two scores in the last four games. Add to that the Raiders' penchant for playing from behind and he's a solid pickup. Cecil Shorts, Jacksonville Jaguars (39 percent) A week ago we worried the return of Laurent Robinson would stunt Shorts' output. After his third game of double-digit targets and second of 100-plus yards in four weeks, however, we're signing off on Shorts as someone to add to your roster post-haste. Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquireThe following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs. Donnie Avery, Indianapolis Colts (61 percent) Avery's numbers aren't eye-popping, but in nine games this season he has yet to be targeted fewer than six times; he has also caught at least four passes in five straight. Avery is a capable reserve with additional value in point-per-reception leagues. Danario Alexander, San Diego Chargers (97 percent) A season-long no-show from free-agent addition Robert Meachem has opened up some playing time for Alexander, who caught five passes for 134 yards and a score in Week 10 (which doubled as his first start). Those in deeper leagues should consider making a play for Alexander now; others can wait and see if his rapport with Philip Rivers continues to develop. Fantasy football free agents: One-week playsThe following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use. Targeted 20 times in the past three games by Cam Newton, LaFell gets his second look of the season at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday. He caught five passes for 65 yards and a score against them in Week 1, and the Bucs have given up a league-worst 240.8 receiving yards and 1.5 touchdowns per contest to opposing wideouts in the past month. Fantasy football free agents: Watch listThese fantasy football free agents shouldn't be on your immediate list. They may have had a big week. They may have talent but are buried on the depth chart and merely awaiting an opportunity. Still, fantasy football players must know who they are for their potential contribution in the future. Donald Jones, Buffalo Bills (87 percent) Jones is settling in as a quality performer opposite Stevie Johnson, catching six passes for 74 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss. In his last three contests, Jones is averaging 5.33 catches, 62 yards and 0.67 touchdowns per game. That might be enough to pick him up in deeper formats.
