Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT
If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year. Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team. Note: Percentage of polled leagues in which player is available in parentheses Fantasy football free agents: Priority additionsThe following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team.
James Starks, Green Bay Packers (74 percent) Starks got his first start of the season in Week 9 and finished with 17 carries for 61 yards. Green Bay's offense will always be predicated on the pass, but Starks averaged a respectable 76.4 yards per game last season in a similar role. Add him if you're in need of running back help. Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquireThe following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs. Marcel Reece, Oakland Raiders (52 percent) Apologies to anyone that scooped me up off the waiver wire as the Silver and Black went with Reece, their usual fullback. He produced solid numbers (104 total yards) in a blowout loss and could have another week of value if preferred runners Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle) remain out of action. A fumble didn't help Taiwan Jones' cause, but he may still be a factor in the meantime, too. Monitor the situation. The wheels came off for the Dolphins last weekend, which included Reggie Bush getting benched for fumbling. Thomas didn't do a lot in Bush's stead, but Miami's ground game has a great chance to get rolling this Thursday against the Buffalo Bills. In the past month they have allowed 171 total yards and 2.67 touchdowns per game to opposing backs. Plus, given the apparent short leash for Bush, Thomas could hold some value beyond this week. Mark Ingram and Chris Ivory, New Orleans Saints (59 percent, 77 percent) Although the former first-round pick hasn't delivered on expectations, Ingram ran 16 times for a season-high 61 yards in Week 10. Ivory proved he can do damage in limited work with a 59-yard touchdown rumble Sunday. Joe Vitt would be wise to use their hardest runner more often, but they're inclined to play Ingram because of their organizational responsibility, in their eyes, to cater to the former Alabama prospect. Ingram will probably receive more carries, but Ivory looks like he'll be the more dynamic runner. It's always dicey relying on any Saints back not named Darren Sproles (hand), but both could at least provide some short-term value. Joique Bell, Detroit Lions (43 percent) While Bell's usage as a runner continues to ebb and flow he has become a fairly steady producer in the passing game: He's averaging three receptions per game over his last seven. Those in point-per-reception leagues should snap him up as serviceable depth. Fantasy football free agents: One-week playsThe following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use. With Fred Jackson (concussion) out, Choice should at least see spot duty this Thursday behind C.J. Spiller. He has only produced one decent game all year and is a desperation play in deeper leagues; still, Miami is coming off a game in which they allowed 180 yards on 34 carries (not counting three game-ending kneel downs), so there could be opportunities.
