Dexter McCluster represents value to the truly desperate

Dexter McCluster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Desperate times call for this guy

Point-per-reception fantasy footballers that are looking for a worthwhile gamble this week should consider Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dexter McCluster. He even has eligibility as a running back in some leagues.

In the last two weeks with Matt Cassel as the primary quarterback, the versatile little guy has been utilized 10 times apiece. That kind of involvement is tough to ignore, even if it comes from an offense as miserable as KC's.

This week, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cassel may have to rely on McCluster as a checkdown out of the backfield if Jamaal Charles cannot get it going on the ground. Take this recommendation with a grain of salt; it really is for those in sheer desperation mode, but the 5-foot-8, 170-pounder's 20 looks in two games is worth taking a chance on.

McCluster is available in 94 percent of leagues polled.
