Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: DT - Week 10 (with video)

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

Cliff Avril, DE, Detroit Lions
Stalking Christian Ponder

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Detroit Lions (33 percent)

This Sunday, the Lions visit the Minnesota Vikings, who after a hot start have come crashing down to Earth offensively. In the past month, Minnesota has allowed 3.5 sacks per game while turning the ball over 2.5 times per contest. Quarterback Christian Ponder has also been held below 100 passing yards twice in that time. It may not be the treasure trove of fantasy points that the Kansas City Chiefs offer, but it's still a strong matchup.

NEW - Dallas Cowboys (53 percent)

Anyone that watched Monday Night Football this week should have a pretty good idea why the Cowboys are here after the Philadelphia Eagles, their Week 10 opponent, made a porous New Orleans Saints defense look strong. Michael Vick was sacked seven times and the Saints forced two turnovers, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Expect a big day from the Dallas D.

NEW - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (62 percent)

Though the San Diego Chargers kept a reasonably clean sheet in Week 9 (one sack, two turnovers; one of which came on special teams), over their previous two games they allowed five sacks and seven turnovers. Traveling west to east never helps, either, which makes the streaking Bucs a solid play.
