Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT
If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year. Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team. Note: Percentage of polled leagues in which player is available in parentheses Fantasy football free agents: Priority additionsThe following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team. Rashad Jennings, Jacksonville Jaguars (80 percent)
Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) lasted just two carries on Sunday and finished the day on crutches; the team hasn't updated the specifics of his injury, but he'll at least miss Week 8, and reports say he'll be out for longer than that. Enter Jennings, a popular preseason pick when MJD was holding out. The fourth-year back gained just 44 yards on 21 carries but found the end zone and added 58 yards on seven receptions. Clearly, Jennings' value is dependent on the length of Jones-Drew's absence. Jacksonville's schedule is a mixed bag, but in point-per-reception leagues, Jennings' expected MJD-like volume will help many clubs. LaRod Stephens-Howling, Arizona Cardinals (79 percent) Head coach Ken Whisenhunt pulled a "Rowdy" Roddy Piper on fantasy owners this Sunday - just when we thought we knew the answers, he changed the questions. A week after William Powell ran 13 times for 70 yards he managed just four carries while Stephens-Howling piled up a combined 24 touches for 149 yards and a touchdown. It's a fluid situation, and a Week 8 showdown with the hard-hitting San Francisco 49ers won't do the hyphenated one any favors, but as of now, he should be picked up in all formats. Daryl Richardson, St. Louis Rams (31 percent) Ladies and gentlemen, we have a full-fledged timeshare in St. Louis. Steven Jackson logged a dozen carries, 57 yards and one score while Richardson registered 11 touches for 79 yards in a Week 7 loss. Had the Rams not fallen behind in the second half, their combined usage almost certainly would've been higher. As such, D-Rich is worth owning in leagues of any size. Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquireThe following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs. Although Hillis (ankle) hasn't played since Week 3, last week's Bye allowed him to get some additional rest and he could be in action this Sunday. Like the rest of the Chiefs, the Albino Rhino has underachieved thus far, but the team is committed to running the football. That should mean more chances to contribute. If you're struggling with your fantasy backs and are looking for a potential spark, consider adding Hillis. Fantasy football free agents: Watch listThese fantasy football free agents shouldn't be on your immediate list. They may have had a big week. They may have talent but are buried on the depth chart and merely awaiting an opportunity. Still, fantasy football players must know who they are for their potential contribution in the future. Montario Hardesty, Cleveland Browns (57 percent) Although Trent Richardson (ribs) reportedly didn't sustain a new injury, he carried the ball just eight times for eight yards in Week 7. Hardesty's seven-carry, 28-yard outing won't set the fantasy world ablaze, but Richardson's ongoing health concerns give him some potential. Phillip Tanner, Dallas Cowboys (86 percent) Even though Felix Jones made the start in Week 7, Tanner still managed 14 touches to Jones' 20. He didn't do a lot with them (38 yards), but if DeMarco Murray (foot) remains out, Tanner could have some value in deep leagues.
