Fantasy football sleepers: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Weeks 3 through 6, unless otherwise stated.

Fantasy football sleepers: Tight ends

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis
Lewis will be involved

NEW - Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans

Fantasy value: High-end No. 1

  • Pitta has only 11 targets in the last three weeks after seeing 31 in the prior three games. His involvement has risen slightly each of the past two weeks, which gives slight hope for improvement in Week 7. Pitta has averaged 3.00 snags for 26.3 yards and 0.25 yards.
  • Houston's defense of the tight end position has been the worst in the league since Week 2, stemming from 4.00 receptions, 63.0 yards and 1.00 touchdowns per contest.
  • The tight end-turned-slot receiver (sort of) has a good chance to rebound this week. Be aware that he is a somewhat risky choice, however.

Dustin Keller, New York Jets at New England Patriots

Fantasy value: No. 1 or flex

  • Keller returned from a hamstring injury Sunday but registered just one target. Jeff Cumberland has picked up the slack in his absence, but Keller has a connection with Mark Sanchez, and once he gets back into game speed, they'll start clicking again.
  • Their Week 7 duel with the Pats presents a good opp for that. New England's defensive backfield remains one of the easiest to dominate. Tight ends have touched them up for 5.75 catches, 54.3 yards and 1.0 touchdowns per contest.

Marcedes Lewis, Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 1

  • Lewis' weekly target load hasn't been consistent, but before Jacksonville's Week 6 bye, he had seven looks, converting five for 24 yards. With Laurent Robinson (concussion) looking like he'll be sidelined again, and Jacksonville's offensive line getting healthier, Lewis should become more involved in the passing game.
  • Oakland's secondary is erratic and scatterbrained, and they've let tight ends accumulate 6.33 catches and 52.3 yards per game while being one of three squads to yield 1.0 touchdown per outing.
