Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Jerome Simpson, Minnesota Vikings (73 percent)

Suspended for the first three games of 2012, Simpson is set to return to a surprisingly effective Vikings passing attack where he should immediately offer a vertical threat that neither Michael Jenkins nor Devin Aromashodu can match. It may take a little while for Simpson to get his timing back, but if you've got available bench space he might be worth stashing.

Barden barging in for PT

Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins (61 percent)

Even though Hartline's production nosedived from nine catches and 111 yards in Week 2 down to one catch for 41 yards on Sunday, the Ohio State product was still targeted nine times by Ryan Tannehill. Statistical fluctuations are to be expected with a rookie under center. However, that doesn't mean Hartline isn't a viable starter when facing advantageous matchups.

Ramses Barden, New York Giants (97 percent)

Barden caught just one pass during the first two games, but with Hakeem Nicks (foot) and Domenik Hixon (concussion) inactive due to injury the fourth-year wideout finally had a breakout game. He finished with nine receptions for 138 yards and could have a larger role going forward. Outside larger leagues he'd just be someone to monitor, but Nicks' Week 4 status in question as well.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

NEW - Leonard Hankerson, Washington Redskins (86 percent)

With Pierre Garcon (foot) out the last two weeks, Hankerson has stepped in and produced six catches, 124 yards and a touchdown. Sunday's opponent, the Bucs, have allowed 17.33 receptions and 291.3 yards per game to wideouts; both of which are the most of any club in the NFL. If Garcon remains sidelined, Hankerson might be in for a big day.

NEW - Damaris Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles (100 percent)

Johnson came from nowhere to catch five passes for 84 yards last week and is facing a Giants secondary that has given up a league-high 19.1 yards per catch to receivers this season. The caveat, of course, is the health of Jeremy Maclin (hip), whom head coach Andy Reid expects to return. If Reid is correct, Johnson's value disappears.

Fantasy football free agents: Watch list

These fantasy football free agents shouldn't be on your immediate list. They may have had a big week. They may have talent but are buried on the depth chart and merely awaiting an opportunity. Still, fantasy football players must know who they are for their potential contribution in the future.

Jacoby Jones, Baltimore Ravens (97 percent)

Although it's probably a bit premature to think about adding Jones, he seems to be developing into a downfield weapon for Joe Flacco. He infamously had a long touchdown catch nullified on a pass interference call in Week 2 and drew a critical flag on Sunday night; this in addition to his 86 yards on three receptions. Watch him.

NEW - Armon Binns, Cincinnati Bengals (98 percent)

We've been waiting for someone to emerge opposite A.J. Green in Cincinnati, and after three games that someone looks like it could be Binns. He has been targeted 13 times, resulting in 12 receptions for 157 yards; the 2011 undrafted rookie free agent also scored his first NFL touchdown in Week 3. Green is still the only sure thing in the Bengals passing game, but Binns bears watching.
