Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT
If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year. Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team. Note: Percentage of polled leagues in which player is available in parentheses Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquireThe following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs. Cleveland Browns (100 percent)
Matched against a potent Philadelphia Eagles offense and saddled with a truly horrendous effort from rookie Brandon Weeden, Cleveland's defense stood tall in Week 1. They harassed and abused elusive quarterback Michael Vick all day long, registering two sacks and forcing four interceptions - one of which they returned for a touchdown. It's hard to say if they can continue to sustain that effort level with so little help from the offense, but they have some playmakers, and Joshua Cribbs looked dangerous in the return game as well. Fantasy football free agents: Watch listThese fantasy football free agents shouldn't be on your immediate list. They may have had a big week. They may have talent but are buried on the depth chart and merely awaiting an opportunity. Still, fantasy football players must know who they are for their potential contribution in the future. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (95 percent) The Buccaneers were atrocious defensively last season, surrendering a league-worst 30.9 points per game, but they looked more like the Warren Sapp/John Lynch-era unit against Carolina. They held the Panthers to just 10 yards on 13 carries, sacked Cam Newton three times and picked him off twice. Despite the strong showing, it's not time to move on them, yet. Fantasy football free agents: One-week playsThe following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use. Although they lost in Week 1's final tilt, the Raiders acquitted themselves well defensively in holding the Chargers to just 258 total yards. The sacks and big plays were missing, but a cross-country trip to visit rookie QB Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins could change all that. Tannehill threw three picks last week and was sacked three times. The team also logged three fumbles, losing one, and managed ... yep, you guessed it, three points (their lone touchdown came on a punt return) on offense. This is an encouraging interpretation on the infamous "Rule of Three" for fantasy owners. If you're looking for a one-week play, look no further.
