Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Priority additions

The following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team.

Billy Cundiff, Washington Redskins (83 percent)

Graham Gano who?

Would it surprise you to learn that only David Akers (52) attempted more field goals last season than then-Redskins kicker Graham Gano (41)? Or that even with marginal accuracy Gano finished with 118 points? Now that role has fallen to the veteran Cundiff, who made all four of his FGAs and all four PATs on Sunday for a 16-point afternoon.

Given how potent Washington's offense looked under the leadership of Robert Griffin III, those without a quality kicker in place should strongly consider rolling the dice on Cundiff.

NEW - Nate Kaeding, San Diego Chargers (27 percent)

Memories are short in the fickle world of fantasy football. That being said, Kaeding's 16-point showing in Week 1 should've served as a reminder that, prior to his injuries, the Iowa product was a top-tier performer.

San Diego's offensive potential coupled with Kaeding's historically excellent accuracy mean he deserves to be owned in all leagues.

Fantasy football free agents: Watch list

These fantasy football free agents shouldn't be on your immediate list. They may have had a big week. They may have talent but are buried on the depth chart and merely awaiting an opportunity. Still, fantasy football players must know who they are for their potential contribution in the future.

Blair Walsh, Minnesota Vikings (94 percent)

Let's see if I can get through this section with making a Blair Witch Project reference (unlikely). Walsh made 40 of his 45 FGAs during his sophomore and junior seasons at Georgia before a dismal senior campaign. He looked like his former self in Week 1, however, going 4-for-4 on field goals, which included a pressure-packed 55-yarder to send the game into overtime.

Despite his clutch play, Walsh is linked to a potentially porous Vikings offense that won't have many easier matchups than their season opener. Keep an eye on the rookie, though, to see if it's eventually worth investing in the "Blair Walsh Project." See, told you I couldn't do it....
