Fancy fantasy football: starts 'n' sits, Demaryius Thomas, Alshon Jeffery

      September 7, 2012 @ 12:08:48 PDT

I'm seeing that these cats are in a lot of Week 1 lineups. Please don't start them (in order of acceptability if I had no other choice):

And frankly, I don't see enough of these dudes in Week 1 lineups:

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery
Clear some space for Jeffery

This report from The Sporting News gives some serious justification to those who are a little wary of Demaryius Thomas' value in 2012. In the league where I own Thomas, I don't plan to play him in Week 1, although thankfully I have the kind of options to make that kind of decision.

Eric Decker will be Peyton Manning's favorite receiver for the foreseeable future. Thomas has astounding ability and will eventually get there, but he's probably going to be an inconsistent play early on this year. He could be an excellent trade target, however, about a quarter of the way into this campaign (in order to avoid waiting too long).

Would you like some more Alshon Jeffery? Yeeeees pleeeeease.

At least one scribe who observes and opines on things Chicago Bears believes that the team's 2012 second-round pick will be a starter at some point this season - and probably sooner rather than later.

Again, best one in his class. You will be jealous of people who own this guy. Especially those in dynasty leagues. Promise.
