KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you candid reviews and ratings of fantasy baseball players making MLB news in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball leagues. Are they trade bait or worth your FAAB dollars in your fantasy baseball games?

Dylan Axelrod, SP, Chicago White Sox

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Kevin Correia
Correia gets his wish

Gavin Floyd has a right elbow strain, per an MRI, and is a possible DL candidate. Either way, he'll rest, and Axelrod looks ready to join the rotation Wednesday. The frequent shuttle participant has delivered attractive peripherals throughout his professional career (7.28 K/9, 2.82 BB/9 in 38 1/3 frames this year mixed between the quintet and bullpen).

The 48.0 percentage of worm burners forced stands out in his largest sample size yet (thanks, sinkers) and counteracts his underwhelming velocity. He's a handy arm with a deep arsenal that could have an extended opportunity the rest of the way. Deep mixed leaguers aren't always comfortable in taking a late-season chance on such players on AL squads, but he's capable of pitching around his home ballpark to alleviate concerns, especially for those in need of a SP jolt.

Kevin Correia, SP, Pittsburgh Pirates

For whatever reason, the Buccos made talented but struggling Erik Bedard walk the plank. Unless he's hurt, he'll catch on somewhere else and could be worth a fantasy look depending on his landing spot.

Correia, meanwhile, should slide into the rotation to continue his high-wire act. Over the last two years he hasn't sniffed the 7.14 K/9 he posted in 2010; his game is more attuned to pitching to contact and with nitpicking control, with a ground-ball uptick being his most important 2012 development.

When ERA and WHIP reach premiums at this time of year, types like this could be useful in the right start setup - park, opponent. He'll be more combustible than many other options on mixed waiver wires, and in those with IP caps that need to stream as many K's as possible, he's hardly ideal.
