The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going through a transformation on both sides of the ball, but one thing that will remain constant is middle linebacker Mason Foster's tenacious downhill style.
The attacking second-year 'backer fits perfectly into head coach Greg Schiano and DC Bill Sheridan's system. Foster, 6-foot-1, 242 pounds, was baptized by lockout fire as a rookie under Raheem Morris.
Year 2 should be a breeze for him after a full offseason. Foster has a nose for the ball, locating it in a hurry. He is bigger, stronger and faster heading into the 2012 season. The Washington product figures to be the heart of the defense and has as much upside as any young linebacker in the league.
I like Foster as an LB2 that that you can draft as your third or even fourth fantasy linebacker. He contributes a little bit across the board but should see a major spike in stops this year. His best value is in tackle-heavy formats.
