Back on the field

A quickie observation before we jump into it. I know it's a miniscule sample size, but after watching him move in the preseason I'm leaping near the front of the Jamaal Charles bandwagon. I'm not the wheelman, but I'm definitely becoming a backseat driver. After all, his recovery timeline from his ACL tear is much better than Adrian Peterson's.

Kansas City Chiefs OC Brian Daboll looks ready to adapt to a run-heavy format with Charles and Peyton Hills, whom as Nicholas Minnix pointed out today was under Daboll's watch with the Cleveland Browns two seasons ago, when the journeyman fullback was one of fantasy's biggest surprises.

Luckily, KC will adeptly accommodate both carriers to give Charles RB2 value, especially in PPRs, with a hint of top-five ceiling in those formats. If I'm at the front end of the second round in a reception rewarder and, say, Matt Forte is gone, Charles looks awfully alluring.

Who will have a bigger PPR season: Chris Johnson or Jamaal Charles?

Handy timing. Though, as mentioned above, I'm high on Charles, I'm fine with taking my chances with CJ2K in the first round, especially toward the back end. His schedule is a bit grating on first glance, but I'm confident he'll have most of his burst back with a full offseason of training, and the Titans will once again make him the offensive focus. If Jake Locker wins the QB job, expect Johnson to be a beneficiary as defenses will be eventually keying in on Locker, as well.

Overall, I think they'll finish near each other in the fantasy rankings at season's close, so I'd be happy with either one. It all depends on how the first round would shake out for me.

Ingram lose 6 rd, Jordy lose 11 rd or Murray lose 17, I thought it best to keep Murray even tho I love Jordy

I'll throw in my keeper to echo what ROQQINRIQ already knows. Hands down, a Round 17 DeMarco Murray is quite the value. The two-way talent is the closest thing Dallas has had to an every-down back in years. His biggest concerns are health and the interior of the Dallas Cowboys' offensive line, which could pose problems early on. Still, it's an attractive makeup to control.

Jordy Nelson can replicate at least his big-play boom (if not his 15 TDs), but if Greg Jennings' concussion complicates things, Nelson is skilled enough to step in as the unquestioned No. 1.

A 6th for Mark Ingram ... hell no, not with that backfield which is crowded and second banana offensively.

On to your target at No. 8. I enjoy leagues that force you to drop the round in which the player was kept - makes for a little more balance and keeps things competitive almost consistently.

Twitter is outstanding for quick, easy access to information. One of the drawbacks, however, is that you don't always get context, and fantasy query fielders can't or don't always give it.
