Fancy fantasy football: rookie drafts, salary caps

      August 3, 2012 @ 15:30:59 PDT

Giving the Reality Sports Online football league manager a test run thanks to our invitation to the RSO Experts League. This software is wild. Basically, in a limited capacity, you're both GM (personnel and salary cap management) and coach (lineup decisions) of your fantasy squad.

My Rookie Draft is on Sunday. Ours is only two rounds, and I choose fifth. Our league has 10 teams, each with a $120,600,000 cap this year. RSO explains the rest, at least as far as the Rookie Draft is concerned:

Each draft slot of each round comes with an associated contract, based on reality. The first selection of the Rookie Draft signs a more valuable contract than the second selection, the second selection signs a more valuable contract than the third selection, etc.

Just finished some quick adjustments to the pre-draft rankings for the rookies. I'll take my chances and include them. I'm probably going to adjust them again, and quite a bit while on the fly, anyway.
