Quarterback

QB | Robert Griffin III | Washington Redskins | Transaction

QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Transaction, Fantasy
After the Baltimore Ravens signed RB Ray Rice to a long-term deal, the next priority for the organization is locking up QB Joe Flacco to a long-term contract. Flacco is concentrating on focusing on the season, and he isn't worried about the business side. "Joe is very, very excited for the season," his agent said. "He's really adamant about getting the Ravens to the next step. The contract at this point is secondary to that goal. Joe has the attitude that he'll earn it."

QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texas QB Matt Schaub (foot) did not answer questions about his right foot injury during a charity event Monday, July 16, saying that he will do so only when training camp starts at the end of next week. "My foot is doing great," Schaub said. "We'll touch on that as we get going here at camp next week. Everything feels good and ready to go." QB T.J. Yates will enter camp as the backup.

Flacco is concentrating on focusing on the season, and he isn't worried about the business side. "Joe is very, very excited for the season," his agent said. "He's really adamant about getting the Ravens to the next step. The contract at this point is secondary to that goal. Joe has the attitude that he'll earn it."

RB | Marshawn Lynch | Seattle Seahawks | Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch is likely to be disciplined by the league after driving recklessly and failing a field sobriety test Saturday, July 14. Lynch hit a pedestrian in 2008 and drove off, and he was suspended three games in 2009 after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor weapons charge.

Wide Receiver

WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said Wednesday, July 18, that Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson is a superior fantasy option than Fitzgerald due to their quarterback situations.

WR | Marques Colston | New Orleans Saints | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
New Orleans Saints WRs Marques Colston and Lance Moore are considered the only real certainties for spots on the 53-man roster, with several battling for jobs in training camp and the preseason. WR Joseph Morgan is considered the biggest pre-camp sleeper.

WR | Jordan Shipley | Cincinnati Bengals | Injury, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals WR Jordan Shipley (knee) figures to be near 100 percent for the start of training camp after seeing limited work during organized team activities (OTAs). He is making his way back from a serious knee injury. Shipley is considered the favorite for the No. 3 receiver job at this point.

WR | Mohamed Sanu | Cincinnati Bengals | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu showed flashes during offseason workouts, and he figures to be in the mix for a starting job with a solid training camp and preseason.

WR | A.J. Green | Cincinnati Bengals | Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green recently worked out with Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl WR Larry Fitzgerald. The veteran has helped a number of young receivers prepare for the season with his grueling workouts. Green played in a variety of spots during offseason workouts, including the slot.

WR | Kenny Britt | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt (knees) had a second knee surgery, this time on his left knee, in late June after he experienced swelling in the knee. Britt had surgery earlier in the year on his right knee after he tore his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments last September.

WR | Terrell Owens | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) worked out with New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer and free-agent QB Kyle Boller (Raiders) a few weeks ago, and Owens worked out with Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate Monday, July 16. Owens also trained with Carolina Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen Monday.

WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes said he thinks QBs Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow can be effective this year because everything will be scripted, with Tebow operating on a set number of plays. Without that dynamic, Holmes doesn't think a two-QB system can work in the NFL. "You have to allow one quarterback to get into the rhythm of a game and it starts from the preparation in practice," Holmes said. "(It's) knowing the first couple of plays that he's going to take these reps, it's getting the feel for coming onto the field with the crowd awaiting you, it's making the mistakes early in the game to finishing the games at the end." Holmes expressed confidence that Tebow will execute the plays that he's called upon in certain wild-cat situations. Holmes praised both QBs during Sanchez's annual passing camp last week.

Tight End

TE | Rob Housler | Arizona Cardinals | Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals TE Rob Housler has shown improvement during offseason workouts. "Rob continues to work everyday and he's definitely gotten better," tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens said. "He just need sto come to the field and get better everyday; if he does, he'll be the player that we thought he could be."

TE | Jeff King | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals TE Jeff King (quadriceps) missed all of the organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp after suffering a partially torn quadriceps muscle. However, he is expected back in the coming weeks. "The prognosis on him is that he's going to be back at some point during training camp," tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens said. "I'm not too concerned with him. He's going to work his tail off and do everything he needs to do to get back."

Place Kicker

The Jacksonville Jaguars waived PK Brandon Coutu Tuesday, July 17. The team signed PK Josh Scobee to a long-term deal Monday, July 16, for four years and $14 million.

LB | Brian Orakpo | Washington Redskins | Injury

Orakpo had surgery in January after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 17 last season. "I'm one hundred percent ready to go," Orakpo said. "In OTA's and minicamp, we kind of got held out because there was no point in re-injuring anything. But once training camp starts, I should be full-go."

LB | Darryl Sharpton | Houston Texans | Injury
Houston Texans LB Darryl Sharpton (quadriceps) said he's still recovering from a torn right quadriceps. "I've kind of transitioned from the training room to the weight room," said Sharpton, who made 12 tackles in eight games. "I've definitely gotten over that hump, I'm feeling good and I'm pretty much there, ready to go." He's expected to see more playing time in 2012, and he's expected to be ready for training camp July 27.

LB | Jonathan Vilma | New Orleans Saints | Injury
New Orleans Saints LB Jonathan Vilma (knee), who has filed a restraining order that would temporarily block his season-long suspension in order to allow him to rehab his knee injury with the team's training staff, will still be able to work with the medical staff away from team headquarters. "Mr. Vilma is incorrect about the ability of the Saints medical staff to interact with him during his suspension; while Mr. Vilma may not attend the club facility, he can rehabilitate and condition at a private facility and Saints trainers and physicians can monitor and help guide his rehabilitation there."

Berry waived his preliminary hearing last week. He will perform 20-40 hours of community service over a six-month period and submit to an alcohol evaluation as part of Pennsylvania's Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.

Strong Safety

SS | Dashon Goldson | San Francisco 49ers | Free Agents
The San Francisco 49ers could keep SS Dashon Goldson beyond this season, but if they used the franchise tag on him again in 2013, it would cost $7.45 million, or 120 percent of his 2012 salary. If the team does not use the franchise tag on him, he can become an unrestricted free agent.
