KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you candid reviews and ratings of fantasy baseball players making MLB news in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball leagues. Are they trade bait or worth your FAAB dollars in your fantasy baseball games?
The Minnesota Twins sent Carl Pavano to the 15-day disabled list due to a right anterior capsular strain in the right-hander's shoulder. The first of his two MRIs this year showed a similar injury. Early projections say he could miss something around six weeks. If this has been bothering him for the last month or so, it'd explain his rough go since the end of a slightly better April. The 36-year-old has allowed at least four earned tallies in four of his last five outings and hasn't been getting ahead on the first pitch as effectively, which fuels his approach. AL-only managers tuck away the innings eater who, with health, could eventually be a tad more useful to deep-mixed SP scroungers as well. Nick Blackburn will slide into Pavano's spot, with his first start coming Wednesday at the Kansas City Royals. The control that has carried him in his MLB career has slipped in recent years - not good for a Twins style of ground-ball-inducing zone-pounder that doesn't fan many. But his battles with shoulder and quadriceps injuries probably contributed to his struggles to stay on the black so far; he's coming off the DL from the latter malady. Managers in deep dual universes should lay off for now but might eventually warm to Blackburn as a Target Field matchup play if he gets back on track. About Tim Heaney
