Pryor, 22, began 2012 in Double-A, where he was 1-0 with seven saves and a 1.13 ERA. Promoted to Triple-A, Pryor pitched 12 innings without allowing a run while going 2-for-2 in save opportunities.

Frieri is also the only pitcher in Major League history to strike out at least 25 batters without allowing an earned run in his first 12 innings with a team.

New York Yankees CL Mariano Rivera (knee, leg) had the blood clot issue in his lower right leg resolved. There is still no scheduled date for surgery for his torn anterior cruciate ligament, however.

Houston Astros RP David Carpenter credited Triple-A Oklahoma City pitching coach Burt Hooton in helping to re-gain better command of his fastball. He also gave credit to Astros pitching coach Doug Brocail. "Burt tweaked a couple of things in my delivery that I had talked to Brocail about prior to going down, and Burt kind of reaffirmed it," Carpenter said.

Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez moved RP Jonny Venters to the seventh inning Tuesday, May 29, and used RP Eric O'Flaherty in the eighth inning. Venters has been struggling lately, and he allowed a run on three hits in his frame of work. However, since allowing three homers in eight innings since May 11, two of the hits allowed Tuesday were grounders up the middle. Gonzalez said that was encouraging.
