Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick said he watched tape with quarterbacks coach David Lee and was shown the mechanical flaws he had last season. Lee has worked on improving Fitzpatrick's mechanics and can see an improvement so far during offseason workouts.

QB | Jeff Garcia | Free Agent | Free Agents
Free-agent QB Jeff Garcia (Texans) said he would join the Philadelphia Eagles in a heartbeat if head coach Andy Reid gave him a call. In fact, Garcia added he would pay the Eagles to join them. "I'm picking up the phone and saying, 'Andy, how much do you want me to pay you so I can come in and get things fired up around there?'" Garcia said. "I'd pay to play, that's just me. I can be that person who can continue to motivate and inspire and help teach and educate. And if given the opportunity to step on the field, I'm going to give everything I have to find success, no matter how it happens."


Running Back

RB | Chris Ivory | New Orleans Saints | Transaction
The New Orleans Saints have restructured the final year of RB Chris Ivory's contract. The team has tacked on a $72,900 signing bonus to the final year of the deal, making up for the income he lost while on the Physically Unable to Perform list last season. No additional years were added to the contract, and Ivory is still scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

RB | Trent Richardson | Cleveland Browns | Fantasy
The name of Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson came up in the Cleveland Browns offices when they were evaluating RB Trent Richardson. The Browns acknowledge Peterson is a little faster, but they think Richardson is better in pass protection, and they believe he is one of the best backs to enter the league in quite awhile. The Browns love Richardson's versatility and plan on getting a lot of out of him immediately.

San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews said he has been working hard this offseason in order to take his game to another level. Mathews will be assuming a bigger workload in 2012. "I personally think he's ready to take that next step," head coach Norv Turner said. "That means, to me, the production goes way up, and he's more of the guy that is on the field most of the time. I think he's grown a lot in terms of understanding his responsibility when the ball is in his hand."

New England Patriots WR Brandon Lloyd has been impressive during organized team activities this week because of his knowledge of the playbook.

WR | Hakeem Nicks | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (foot) is likely to be out only four to six weeks after fracturing a bone in his foot, and he could very well play in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.


Tight End

TE | Tony Moeaki | Kansas City Chiefs | Injury
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said TE Tony Moeaki (knee), FS Eric Berry (knee) and SS Kendrick Lewis (pectoral) likely will not be cleared to practice before the end of offseason workouts. Crennel said he is hopeful all three will be ready for the start of training camp.


Offensive Tackle

Seattle Seahawks OT James Carpenter (knee) recently was given clearance to start running and is making steady progress in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Free-agent OT Max Starks (knee) said he is around two months away from being cleared to participate in football activities. Starks said he expects his agent to talk with the Pittsburgh Steelers about the possibility of re-signing with them but there is nothing for certain.

Kansas City Chiefs OG Jeff Allen (ankle) was in a walking boot during organized team activities Thursday, May 24, because of an ankle injury.


Guard

OG | Kevin Zeitler | Cincinnati Bengals | Transaction
The Cincinnati Bengals have signed first-round draft choice OG Kevin Zeitler to a four-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.


Defensive Line

DL | Steve McClendon | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury
Pittsburgh Steelers DL Steve McClendon could start at nose tackle in Week 1 with DL Casey Hampton (knee) likely to begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. "Everybody wants to discard McLendon. Let me tell you this, hold your opinion until the season is over," defensive line coach John Mitchell said. "I'm just saying keep your opinion until after the season, (then) you make the decision."


Linebacker

Cornerback

Dallas Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick is unwilling to play a cornerback/safety hybrid position to get CB Mike Jenkins onto the field. "Not happening," Scandrick said. New secondary coach Jerome Henderson wasn't closing the door on a potential move or different role for Scandrick, however. "All those players, we'd like to use them interchangeably and be versatile," Henderson said.

Baltimore Ravens CB Cary Williams (hip) said he is around 80 percent recovered from the hip surgery he underwent but expects to be ready for the start of training camp.

CB | Morris Claiborne | Dallas Cowboys | Injury
Dallas Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne (wrist) is expected to start in Week 1 of the 2012 season, even though he has yet to take part in offseason workouts. Claiborne should be ready in time for training camp.
