Collecting fantasy football RBs: Ronnie Hillman, Terrance Ganaway

Even we fantasy baseball analysts need a break once in a while. For today and whenever football comes into play, Rounding the Bases turns into Snap Judgment. With stud running backs dying off, it's more important than ever to tab which depth options that can stand out. Rookies aren't a bad place to start.
Trent Richardson won't be cheap, and Isaiah Pead is getting some pub. Two others I have in mind, however, should earn late-round consideration with an impressive camp showing and could add valuable fantasy touches with some breaks down the road this season. Ronnie Hillman, Denver Broncos Plenty of excitement around the office about the rook, especially from Nicholas Minnix and Keith Hernandez, our resident Broncos fans. With Knowshon Moreno (knee) and Lance Ball underwhelming, the former San Diego State Aztec has the playmaking ability to complement Willis McGahee's style. The vet looked refreshed last year, but how long will it last? Hillman adds home-run ability and could become Peyton Manning's next Joseph Addai in the receiving game. He'll have to prove he's an adept pass blocker to have enough chances, though, because Denver won't want to jeopardize Manning just so they can play a talented scatback. His ADP could start rocketing as summer wanes if he outperforms Moreno and Ball, which isn't that big a mountain to climb for Mile High touches. Terrance Ganaway, New York Jets The Jets need some fresh legs, especially in the power downs, so they grabbed a potential stand-in during the draft. Shonn Greene hasn't been cutting it consistently. Tim Tebow might be the Jets' best goal-line back, but Ganaway has the build (if not the polish) of a game-changer. He's a tad slow, but at 6-foot, 239 pounds, he's the type of back Rex Ryan and Tony Sparano drool over. Some scouting reports say he has drawbacks similar to those of the sometimes-passive Greene. Still, slashers Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight hardly constitute direct handcuffs to Greene's role and skills. About Tim Heaney
Tim's work has been featured by USA Today/Sports Weekly, among numerous publications, and recognized as a finalist in FSWA's awards. The Boston University alum competes in Tout Wars and LABR and has won numerous industry leagues in both baseball and football. During baseball and football season, he's on The Reality Check with Glenn Clark every Wednesday on 1570 AM WNST in Baltimore. He hits the airwaves every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sirius XM Fantasy Sports Radio, where he often crashes other shows, as well. Don't miss these great reports....
