Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market: Delmon Young won't appeal suspension

Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets are no longer of use.'s Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you candid reviews and ratings of fantasy baseball players making MLB news in your rotisserie or head-to-head baseball league. We'll help you decide whether they're trade bait or worth your FAAB dollars in your fantasy baseball games.

Dave Dombrowski told the media on Monday evening that Delmon Young won't appeal the seven-day suspension without pay that MLB handed down for the outfielder's arrest on the charge of harassment, which was classified as a hate crime. The Detroit Tigers' GM added that the organization won't dole out additional punishment.

The disciplinary restriction is retroactive to this past Friday, when he was first out of the lineup following his arrest and Detroit placed him on the restricted list. He's eligible for activation this Friday, which means that he'll have missed five games. It would've been six, but the first game of Motown's series with the Kansas City Royals, scheduled for Monday night, was rained out and will be made up on Sept. 24.

The PT fallout from this is obviously minimal and shouldn't prompt roto players to adjust their rosters. With call-up Brad Eldred a primary occupant of the DH spot, Andy Dirks figures to start at least one of Detroit's two games - the one versus Luke Hochevar - before Friday. The other contest is against left-hander Jonathan Sanchez, so the Tigers may be willing to put Ryan Raburn out there and go with Ramon Santiago or Danny Worth at second base for it.
