The Detroit Lions selected Iowa offensive tackle Riley Reiff with the 23rd overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. Fantasy analysis: Detroit has a 35-year-old Jeff Backus coming off elbow surgery on the left side and Gosder Cherilus entering a contract year on the right. Reiff is a better right tackle prospect than a blindside protector in the NFL. His contributions to Detroit's offense may not come until the 2013 season, but he gives depth and upside to the line.
