The Buffalo Bills selected South Carolina cornerback Stephon Gilmore with the 10th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Analysis: Was this a logical pick for Buffalo? The Bills selected the defensive player who was perhaps the biggest riser among first-round possibilities, but they had needs that most expected them to address with this choice. Gilmore is a fantastic talent. Many corners aren't big fantasy football assets, however, and that's especially true of rookies at the position. It's not a given that Gilmore will start 16 games, because if he struggles with any element of Buffalo's defense, the Bills have the depth to supplant him on occasion. Gilmore should be a good player and a weapon to combat an offense like that of the New England Patriots for years, but it he may not be a fantasy commodity for a couple of years, if he becomes one.
