2012 NFL Draft - Pick 8: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Dolphins

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins selected Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill with the eighth overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Fantasy analysis: Tannehill, with only 19 collegiate starts, is the future of the Dolphins' offense, but that doesn't meant he will start to begin the 2012 season. In all likelihood, he will ride the pine behind Matt Moore until the Dolphins either lose enough games to make the switch or feel Tannehill is ready to take over the reigns. It is hard to imagine that the coaching staff will throw him into the fire for Week 1.

Tannehill is an extremely risky fantasy selection and should only be selected by owners in full-retention keeper leagues for 2012. The extremely athletic passer is poised for a strong NFL career, but it will take time to see profit on your fantasy football investment.
