I don't think he'll pitch in spring training."

He threw his fastball, slider and changeup and was throwing at about 80-85 percent.

SP | John Lamb | Kansas City Royals | Injury,
Kansas City Royals P John Lamb (elbow) is doing light throwing exercises in camp as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery last June. He is scheduled to return to the mound sometime in July in extended spring training. The team hopes he can pitch in the final month of the minor league season.

SP | Michael Pineda | New York Yankees | Fantasy,
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman acknowledged that SP Michael Pineda must improve his changeup this year. "He has to develop his changeup. It is a below average pitch for him right now. I don't think there is a No. 1 or 2 starter in the big leagues that you can say is a No. 1 or 2 with two pitches. You can pitch like that for a certain period of time, but to pitch like that for a consistent period of time you need more than one or two pitches," Cashman said. Pineda only threw his changeup around five times per game in 2011, and he used it almost exclusively against lefties.

"It was something I was doing a little bit last year that you guys were aware of, just getting a little bit more momentum down the mound. That was something that I worked on all offseason."

He uses a three-finger grip on his changeup instead of the traditional circle-change grip.

RP | Joakim Soria | Kansas City Royals | Fantasy,
Kansas City Royals RP Joakim Soria did not make major adjustments in the offseason after the worst year of his career in 2011. Most of the damage done occurred in the first two months when he experimented with a cut fastball that affected command of his other pitches. Soria had a 2.58 ERA in his last 37 outings. He has since eliminated the cutter. Pitching coach Dave Eiland thinks Soria occasionally rushes his delivery, which causes his arm to drag and allows his pitches to become flat. The team doesn't want to overwork him this spring, but they will allow him to pitch for more than one inning in save chances. "I don't know if I'll use him for two innings," manager Ned Yost said, "but I'll darn sure use him for four or five outs. My plan is to lean heavily on the bullpen early in the year."

Ps Lance Lynn, Kyle McClellan and Mitchell Boggs will prepare solely as relievers. SP Brandon Dickson is an option to be a swingman if needed.

RP | Felix Doubront | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy,
Boston Red Sox SP Felix Doubront is a sleeper to earn the final spot in the team's rotation this year.
